The head teacher of my junior school would have preferred to be an auctioneer. So, we spent assemblies finding out about antiques he'd bought over the weekend. I was able to impress him by telling him my neighbour had a similar commode to the one he'd shown the assemby. I now own that commode.

I’m on a newly refurbished central line tube. Very posh. But, for some reason, although you can do the usual thing where you see your reflection curve& distort in the mirror, for some reason it won’t photograph. What is this new technology and why does it exist?! But enjoy this photo of me trying.

My friend was in his gown in the hospital when his surgeon came in. He'd been saving and fundraising for years. It's been postponed indefinitely. His mental health is in the toilet, he's freelance, he and his partner paid for a hotel and time off. This is inhumane treatment.

NHS cancelling surgeries for adults even after they’ve already paid for travel + accommodation and waited years to get there. Some were about to be wheeled into theatre! Every manager responsible for this decision must be sacked and every patient paid compensation.

NASHVILLE, TN (August 25, 2026) – Global icon and humanitarian, Dolly Parton, known to the world as a beloved singer, songwriter, philanthropist, actress, playwright, and author died peacefully today in Nashville, Tennessee. She was 80 years old.

 

Dolly is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years Carl Thomas Dean (1942 – 2025), her mother Avie Lee Caroline Owens (1923 – 2003), and father, Robert Lee Parton, Sr. (1921 – 2000). 

 

A rhinestone life that shone bright enough for the world to see, Dolly will forever stand as an inspiration not only through her timeless music and prolific songwriting, but also her wit, warmth, and kindness that made us all feel like family. Dolly Parton’s legacy is one of love, compassion, and resilience. With a seven-decade career, she inspired multiple generations of artists and fans with her music and an unwavering commitment to making the world a better place. Her songs will continue to resonate with people of all ages, and her philanthropic work will have a lasting impact.

Given trans people are less than 1% of the population, getting it wrong 4% of the time means you are 4x as likely to misgender a cis woman than spot someone is trans. This is without accounting for the effects of hormones, surgery etc. Absolute madness from the EHRC chair. A "human rights" body.
