While I’ve got some disagreements with Josh M, I agree that anti-Zionism does sometimes function this way. An irony here is that conflating Jewish identity with Zionism has long been an Israeli project. That project is failing recently but it’s part of birthright trips etc. (1/2)

Hot take: Reading Seamus Heaney's letters and Collected Poems, I get a bit of a Bono vibe. Terrific promise, excellent early work, tends to suck up all the air in the room, peaked at a certain point (The Haw Lantern = The Joshua Tree), but in the end a bit of a bollocks.

LLMs impress the writers who do not want to write, the coders who don't want to code, the researchers who don't want to research, and the lawyers that don't want to actually understand case law. Those that desperately tell you how powerful Al is and that you simply must use it are looking for you to validate their own laziness or distaste for effort, and those who are impressed with LLMs' outputs tend to be people with low standards.
