Living next to construction update: They've added new lights to the site that shine in my window. The best part is the lights are powered by a noisy generator. So for the 8 hours of night when the sites aren't active, I still have light and noise pollution.

Honestly? I think if I'm in a position where I'm not pissing off drivers, that's where I'm safest. Taking the middle of the lane even though it is my right pisses off drivers more than keeping as far right as is safe. I hate that we have to make this choice.

When I did this on Saturday, two cars passed within 2 ft of me. I could have touched them. This was on a single family home, one-way residential street. Of course we should take the lane but such a safety risk. A terrifying safety risk.

Given my inability to write anything constructive to the premier, I instead chose to write the mayor. In a city with very little traffic enforcement done by police, it is unacceptable that dozens were deployed to protect the removal of bike lanes. It won't do anything but I feel a bit better.
