I have been meaning to write a post about a preprint that I'm pretty excited about: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6... In neuroscience we often assume that we can learn something general about “the brain” using different species. But is this true? Do monkeys even see the world the way we do?
On the left, an image of a rhesus macaque looking towards its left, and on the right, an AI-generated zoomed-out rendering of a human in the same pose. Both are looking.

If LLMs are increasingly used for data analysis, should we worry that they might encourage p-hacking? A recent preprint suggests that the answer may be yes, at least in relatively complex analytical pipelines. I share some personal experience here 👇 www.linkedin.com/posts/stefan...

I am so happy to have been a part of this + @antonlukashevich.bsky.social The study is actually immensely important IMO. So many studies have been designed under the assumption that the link between CDA and individual differences in memory is large and robust. We find that this is not the case. 1/N

Don't work in this area and can't vet claims about the study, so am curious what others think. Generally, the core argument Chris appears to make—breaking the blind is a fatal flaw for any RCT—appears similar to the argument we've made about using psychedelics for treating mental health problems.
