Changing PM would in my view be a disaster for the UK internationally, esp if J Powell went too. They have kept UK leading with France on Ukraine, handled the Iran crisis skilfully and managed tensions with the US. No likely successor has any foreign policy experience. C’d Starmer be Foreign Sec?

If you are ever near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, you should visit The Cromwell Museum. It's a little gem, and the staff and volunteers are very welcoming. A really interesting building as well. Once part of a medieval monastic hospital, and school for Oliver #Cromwell and Samuel #Pepys.

Five years ago today it seemed that the golden age of naval idiocy had disappeared forever. That was before the Venezuelan patrol vessel Naiguatá managed to recapture some of this spirit by fighting - at least at that point - the dumbest action of the 21st century.

These are choir pits at Whalley Abbey. The only remaining example in England. The choir was built on top and the extra depth was meant to add reverberation to create a deeper sound.
