Ten USAF B-1B Lancer bombers have left RAF Fairford for bases in the United States. They’d been stationed in the UK for the war with Iran.

"Turncoat" Robert Jenrick appears (at least) six times in the Tory tapestry. Bearing in mind he's not the only defector, that's quite a hit rate...

Take AI. Is the argument UK seeks to amend EU policy to make more development friendly? Or that EU approach actually closer to (quite cautious) uk public opinion? Both arguable positions but there’s not a consensus on the pitch and it’s where the debate will be conducted

Agree very much with this. The 'future business' is about weaponised trade dependencies, European security, an entrenched far-right movement at the core of the Republican party. All of those are hard for British politicians to talk about.

some Thatcher policies worked and some failed but as Chris Giles and I both wrote in 2016 she only had successes because UK was in the EU

Yes and no, I think their domestic Policies are the result of believing what they see on X, and so are becoming more and more Populist and 'niche', but I think their rejection of anyone who agrees with Nett Zero is either the result of Oil & Gas

Again, <only Republicans> ever get to talk like this. If a single municipal level Democrat ever did, it would be a national outrage &spark a wave of “civility” discourse, & op-eds about how Dems must Respect Real Folkz & talk across difference. Democracy is incompatible with this double standard.

The Tory party has killed itself with Brexit. It’s lost its mind chasing Farage into the gutter, saying unserious things, promoting unserious people who stand around in suits, arms folded, talking utter dribble to get a headline. It’s pathetic. We deserve a better opposition. This lot are shite.

So, Tories would cancel Erasmus and youth mobility, scrap the SPS deal that reduces red tape, lowers costs and eases backlogs for goods trade and renege on our new energy, defence and security arrangements… Ridiculous threat, ridiculous party, ridiculous people…
Tories would reverse steps to undo Brexit
Alex Burghart, the deputy leader, also says his party is wedded' to triple lock and electoral reform is doomed

“The Conservatives will win the next election” is one of those mathematical equations that we’ve all known is almost certainly right since November 2024, but “everything Kemi says or does” continually gives you a “maybe I should check my working again” feeling:

A man builds an IED. He sets it off in a busy public street. Shrapnel flies about hitting cars, homes and a child's bedroom. It's a miracle nobody is injured. And Reform MP Sarah Pochin calls his imprisonment "disproportionate" and "two tier justice."
It does raise this point of two-tiered
justice..

Reform's Sarah Pochin believes the
sentence handed to the 64-year-old who
blew up a ULEZ camera was
disproportionate'.

On a trade-off of allowing more EU immigration if that meant closer trade links vs keeping post-Brexit controls even if meant economic disadvantages there was a 49-34% (+15) preference to prioritise trade/economy & allow more Eu migration, significantly split by party politics + Brexit view

In some ways, it would have been better if they had used 'British' or even 'the British Isles' as the ancestral base, instead of 'English'. Fewer people excluded. But then that becomes its own melting pot, and you might just as well say white NW European. Or just white European.

I sometimes think Suella's real definition of Englishness is... White, English-speaking people with English-sounding names, and that she and other headbangers are just trying to put some kind of rules & genetic science around it. But it doesn't work. And it remains blatant racism.
