The neighborhood my parents moved to in VA do this, they are in a sub divison and somehow the whole HoA seems to have agreed that the cluster of streets they live on is Halloween central. They shut down the streets and the homes set up desks and whatnot in their driveways.

Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...

Apparently my employer changed the account type to archive of several old accounts, which caused the alerts for each of them to show up in my inbox. But I disabled alerts on all of those accounts and the bogus invites in the inbox went away.

When there's a big blowout in MLB (like the Cubs beating the Brewers 17-3 yesterday), teams bring in position players to pitch, in order to not waste relief pitchers' arms on games that are pretty much settled. And it's frequently hilarious, with 35mph pitches that get crushed. 1/2

I watch baseball almost every day and I *love* it when there is a position player pitching. When my team is getting blown out it adds some fun to an otherwise miserable day, and when my team's on the up it's also kind of fun to watch them try to hit a 20mph ball.

I just saw someone say the reason people love Backrooms is because it's tangible with real people filmed on real locations and this is definitely one of those No CGI is Really Just Invisible CGI things. This is from Mr. Wolf VFX's site who did the effects work for Backrooms.
