Elder advocate for the beautiful world I inherited but fear my great grandchildren will never get to see the beauty - all burned up and polluted with single-use plastics. Environmental degredation makes me so sad. But I love to grow food and flowers.

NDP parliamentary leader @donvdavies.bsky.social says National Post column targeting NDP leader @avilewis.ca is "appalling, irresponsible and likely criminal" The column calls for Lewis to be dealt with by way of ancient "Jewish law" while invoking loaded language used by Yitzhak Rabin's assassin
Don Davies v @DonDavies • 1h This is appalling, irresponsible and likely criminal. Threatening and inciting others to remove a Canadian political leader for his political views is outrageous. Both the author and the National Post must retract, apologize and reverse this message at once. Samira Mohyeddin /jau Absolutely diabolical. National Post puts a bullseye on Avi Lewis through the rabid ramblings of Yoni Goldstein who invokes Halakhah and Leviticus on how to deal with Jews. Writing Lewis "presents a clear and present danger to the Jewish community" & other Jews are "duty- bound to = NATIONAL POST Yoni Goldstein: Jewish law tells us how to deal with Avi Lewis His Yom Kippur message was indefensible By Yoni Goldstein, Special to National Post Published Sep 29, 2026 Last updated 17 hours ago 4 minute read • 190 Comments

S..

@SMohyeddin • 10h = NATIONAL POST None of this applies, however, when a Jewish person presents a clear and present danger to the Jewish community. When that happens, Jewish thought is much more forceful: you must prevent the perpetrator from causing harm. Jewish law developed two character sketches to describe such scenarios. The first is known as a "mosar" — a Jewish person who informs to oppressive authorities, potentially leading to the imprisonment, torture or death of community members. The second, called a "rodef," refers to a Jew who is actively pursuing another with the intent to harm or kill them. In both scenarios, the law is clear that a jew is duty-bound to step in. Protecting the community and its members is the most important thing. 244

Watching replay of the ceremony on Parliament Hill today. I wish someone would explain the loud yelling with the drumming song which the Eagle singers are singing. They sound as if they are saying the same thing over and over. It would be good for us settlers to understand the meaning.

Today, the courts are not trying to wokely atone for hurt feelings over past crimes; they are validating the legal agreements made between Indigenous people and the Crown over the past 300 years…those agreements have been neglected, stalled, or outright broken by successive Canadian governments.

Conservatives' and Alberta separatists' worst nightmare is that Mark Carney teed up the pipeline political football. Let's see them kick that football. New pipelines require massive amounts of patient money. A land-locked independent Alberta would have no international right to tidewater pipelines.

I wonder if this is a show ahead of the Alberta vote. If the oil industry itself is against the pipeline, and corporations haven’t stepped forward to invest in it, then carney has to know there’s no business case for it. Maybe he’ll let market forces take over and kill the project - after the vote.
