I enjoyed talking with constituents at the Fall Festival in Nanaimo Park today. The pumpkin carving contest was a hit with the kids, and there were so many talented artists for the craft market. We could not have had a more beautiful day for it! We have the best and friendliest neighbours! #OttWN

Our government supports the full and safe participation of girls in sport. I visited a girls soccer camp at Agincourt School, where girls have fun and learn soccer. I also enjoyed talking to the young women who are learning mentoring and coaching techniques through this federally funded program.

On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour Survivors, their families and communities, and remember the children who never returned home. May we continue to listen, learn and advance reconciliation every day. Every Child Matters. 🧡

I brought greetings to the Ukrainian Women’s Association of Canada 100th anniversary! Ukrainian-Canadian women have preserved their culture, language and traditions and contributed significantly to Canadian society. We recognized the determination and strength of Ukrainian people. Slava Ukraini!

Today we had a productive meeting of the National Capital Region Liberal caucus with mayors of Ottawa and Gatineau, local stakeholders like Invest Ottawa, representatives of Ottawa tourism, Colleges and Universities, housing providers and more. We’re all working to make NCR the best place to live.

Today at the Aero Gatineau Air Show we watched as the iconic snowbirds flew with one of the new CT-157 Siskin II aircraft which will replace them. A spectacular and emotional farewell at the last public performance of the Snowbirds.

Today the Royal Ottawa hospital opened its new urgent care centre. It provides a less overwhelming space, saves time for first responders and allows people to access direct help. With armchairs and calming colours instead of examining rooms, patients will get timely access to the supports they need.

I always enjoy spending time at the Bayshore Park community garden and oven. It’s a wonderful way to bring the whole community together to bake pizzas and share different cultural recipes, have some fun and teach kids about growing vegetables, nutrition and baking. Join them again this Saturday 1-4!

We announced funding for free tax clinics will be year-round. I’m proud that Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre will be an implementing partner. Last year they helped 727 people fill in tax returns which accessed over $5 million in benefits and credits. Now they can provide help all year.

A great weekend of community activities. My team and I had a table at the Carlingwood End of Summer BBQ and Parkwood Hills movie night. It was great to talk with neighbours, especially the teens who came by to learn more about what an MP does and share their views. Thanks to everyone who stopped by!

Thank you to my constituents who attended my pre-budget consultation and sent in written submissions. I was impressed by the depth and innovativeness of the ideas, how much effort was put into each submission and the passion with which constituents spoke about their priorities. #Budget2026 #OttWN

The Government of Canada is providing matching funds to Canadian Red Cross to support our neighbours impacted by the Ottawa floods. Whether providing hotel rooms, supplying equipment and doing wellness checks, the Red Cross was there for our neighbours and so are we: www.canada.ca/en/public-sa...

I welcomed Canada’s Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne for an important affordability announcement. At Canadian Tire in Carlingwood mall, we announced that our government will extend the suspension of the federal fuel excise tax until next January. This will lower costs for all Canadians.

Canada Summer Jobs is a fantastic program where employers can hire summer students funded by the federal government. The students get valuable experience and the projects benefit the whole community! I visited two of the summer camps: at the Soloway Centre and a STEM camp at City view United Church.

For the launch of Capital Pride I joined the Pride flag raising at City Hall. The testimonials were of resilience in the face of backlash, the importance of allies and that love will always win. We celebrate that everyone should be free to be their true selves and to love who they love. Happy Pride!

Thank you to volunteers who joined me in our OWNFLA Days of Action this weekend. We knocked on doors to find out the priorities of constituents on the next federal budget. I had some great conversations, especially with many people who appreciated Prime Minister Mark Carney’s speech yesterday.#OttWN

What a beautiful day for the Back-to-school community launch at Michele Heights. Ottawa City Soccer Club hosted soccer games for the kids, there was basketball, a BBQ, haircutting, a DJ, games and more. I even got to meet some #CanadaSummerJobs students working at the splash pad. A great turn-out!

Today is National Peacekeepers Day. For 7 decades Canada has sent over 125,000 CAF members, 4,500 police and civilians all around the world as part of UN Peacekeeping Missions. 130 Canadians lost their lives and more came home with visible and invisible injuries. Today we honour their sacrifice.

Julian of Norwich church has an excellent concept that helps with affordability and gives old items new life to help with the environment. It’s called “Junk in your trunk”. Participants park their cars in the church parking lot and fill them with items to sell. There were some treasures to be found!

I’ve been talking to residents hit by the devastating floods, sharing information and connecting people to get the resources they need. Particularly hard hit was Crystal Beach, where neighbours showed me their gutted basements and piles of personal belongings on the curb in front of every house. 1/2
