The soccer team I coach had a great game today where they had way less subs and were sure they were gonna lose. Got to break out the “you can’t control how many players they have, but you can control how hard you play” and I got t have a good “I-told-you-so” moment when we won by a lot.

It’s a pack full of mythics and rares lmao what more can you ask for. I am also assuming the god pack cards themselves will be sought after by some collectors since they say which set they’re coming from. I think this really adds to the “golden ticket” feel of a god pack.

I have been engaging with my community in ways I used to struggle with - I am coaching a soccer team of 7-8 year olds, I am a regular at my local games store, people at the book club at the indie bookstore I go to remember my name even when I miss a month. I feel like I’m making a village.

There have been two occasions in my career where I had to go to war with teammates against mistaken understandings of probability. In both cases, it was because people expected large numbers of d6s to occasionally result in maximum damage. But the curves for 3d6 and 15d6 (e.g.) look like this:

Had a dumb idea for a side character in a superhero satire that’s a white atheist dude who gets powers that are clearly Hindu iconography. His side arc would be him trying to be as respectful and learned as possible but every time he gets a new move it’s like borderline cultural appropriation.

I remember that I started to read it in high school and I just couldn’t stand their version of Harry. Before the Rowling TERF stuff I was just like “this kid is insufferable” which I’m very glad for because otherwise I definitely could’ve been a mark for the underlying philosophy at that time

Not disagreeing with the art theft by any means! I think my disagreement is on something that doesn’t really matter tbh - I was just disagreeing with the idea that something from a supplementary commander product could be considered the marquis card of the set. Theres a lot of Jaces in the main set
