Managed to follow one of the 2nd-brood Swallowtail (Papilio machaon) larvae we have been observing feeding on Hemlock (Conium maculatum) through to pupation. The pupa now 'just' has 8-10 months ahead to avoid predation plus natural and man-made disasters! #swallowtail #britannicus

The South East Pine Marten Restoration Project has found that the animal is most likely to thrive in areas with extensive woodland cover. Suitable habitats have also been identified in Gloucestershire, East Yorkshire and East Anglia. Exciting!!!
