Great to see Environment Secretary @angelaeagle1.bsky.social recognising the benefits of restoring nature for preventing wildfires and improving climate resilience. An important rebuttal of unsupported claims ‘rewilding’ is to blame for wildfires, like those at Dunwich Heath this summer.

Did you manage to see the solar eclipse last week? 🌙 The eclipse was viewed by visitors to our nature reserves, colanders and pin hole view finders were used to see the eclipse safely.

Swifts are beginning to to fledge over at Lackford Lakes, the first one went on Saturday morning!🪶They have been such welcome visitors to the reserve, with 4 boxes occupied at Lackford Lakes reserve this year.

Hot weather update ⚠️With the extremely hot and humid weather this week, we're keeping a close eye on the temperatures at our visitor centres. Lackford Lakes is closed on Wed 24th and Thurs 25th June. Carlton Marshes is open as normal for now.

June Wildlife to spot in Suffolk!✨ At this time of year, you might spot a Swallowtail Butterfly or Dragonfly darting around. The rare nightjar and glow-worm are harder to spot, but at Blaxhall Common Nature Reserve you may spot them in the evening!
