right. what is coming out of the model's output may have relatively little to do with what is in KV cache.

Kahl's Shere Khan or Kathy Zielinski's Frollo or Baxter's Quasimodo or Keane's Beast or Deja's Scar move in ways highly specific to the animator's understanding of the character. They are in a way also writing the character by how they choose to animate them specifically.

When interviewing at my current job, I came with surströmming and ate it with my mouth open in between asking them questions like "Which animals do you think you could take in a fight?" or "Do you think you could beat Venus Williams in a tennis match?" They respected my dominance and masculinity.

Not an economist, don't know what's going to happen, but just taking it together, it seems like the vibes could be truly absurdly rancid if we get two more years of basically the same governance and I am not sure how that *doesn't* happen without some kind of even-worse crisis.

And I would also assume that folks are going to experience rising rates on mortgages pretty negatively - it's going to trap folks into older low rate purchases or prevent new folks from getting houses, which I could see contributing to a strong sense of malaise.

This makes me hopeful. This number is aspirational but nowhere near out of reach: a working professional could realistically cash out their 401k and buy off a public official. Owning a senator is more attainable for most Americans than home ownership.

listening and understanding what people are saying, even (especially?) when it doesn't make empirical sense on its face, is so completely central if you are (approximately) a computer toucher who thinks it's important for people to know details about these things. kinda the whole game tbh

IMO, the solution should not be to browbeat people into an old standard, but rather allow people to wear whatever they want. If someone can wear ducky pajamas in public, you can wear tailoring in any cut, color, and material. As options open up, dress can then be a source of pleasure.

It's very easy to wear a suit and tie in any major city, even if the aesthetic has mostly disappeared from daily life, because there are people outside wearing pink tutus with Army boots. As usual, your liberation is connected to other people's liberation.
Bobby Mars on Twitter writes: "If you wear a collared shirt and nice shoes out to the bar in the rust belt, multiple people will ask you if you just came from a wedding. Aesthetic standards for men’s attire are horrendously low"

Physical fitness is good self-care in the same way as eating well and sleeping enough. It might even be a valuable form of self-discipline, which in any form is of social value. But physical fitness doesn't make you superior. That is in fact a proto-fascist idea.

my objection here is that the idea that the US is a failed state which cannot be a part of the international order is a perfectly reasonable statement by a Canadian and the worst kind of Russian liberal bullshit when said by an American, because it just means 'we won't contest that fact.'
