I have a history of things not working for me. I got the two Shingrix shots and yet, still got shingles (twice) within a couple of years. I'm still going to stay current on all of my vaccines, but I think hope is still a valid thing to hold onto. Why be so cynical?

Today I got my flu shot and Covid booster. Three weeks ago, I got a pneumonia vaccine. Here's hoping they're all effective! I went to the supermarket for my shots, and since I got more than one, I received a $20 coupon to use at the store. Huzzah!

Here's my inane update du jour. As I've mentioned, I've been on a weight loss journey and I'm down 98.4 lbs. Today I was organizing a basement closet and I found a forgotten bag of cashmere sweaters. My husband bought them for me in the late 1990s and they were too small then. Today, they all fit.

So far, I have a purple rain jacket, a down jacket, wool winter coat, leggings, shorts, pants, a skirt, three or four tops, two dresses, a sweater, and a hoodie. I will continue to acquire purple clothing and accessories while they are on trend and therefore ubiquitous.

Eighteen months ago, I started on a journey to lose 100 lbs. I've worked really hard toward that goal. This morning I stepped on the scale and saw I've lost 95 lbs. or 45% of my body weight. That was a nice surprise since I didn't think I was that close to my goal.
