Don’t you *LIKE* understanding the magic of the machine? You do realize hand-programming (I hate that I even have to specify hand now) is fun…right?

execs wouldn't need to pressure their employees to use agentic coding if it lived up to the marketing nobody wants the machine to do their job for them more than a programmer; that's why a lot of us got into programming in the first place

Forgive the earnest post here, but one year ago this week, Global Tetrahedron took over The Onion. We've since brought back the paper and ONN, dramatically increased revenue, and hired more writers and artists. But most importantly, as other places debased themselves, we refused to bend the knee.

i'm in the process of making a flake that provides a bunch of custom components & modules for home-asssitant ! so far i've added a couple components, a couple lovelace modules, and i've sorted out some messy python deps. the real question remains: will this work when consumed in another flake ???

Not wanting your voice being used to train a model is a very different sentiment than not being able to imagine a use case.

Removed? It's still very possible to upload your own transcripts, but I think that fewer people take the time to do it as they've decided that the auto-generated ones are "good enough".

STOP DOING website footers
websites do not have a beginning and an end
years of copyright 2001 yet no real world use found for displaying a year on your website
Wanted to arbitrarily protect your content? We had a tool for that. It was called putting your name on it/
Yes please give me copyright copyright copyright of something. Please give me this year of it. Statements dream up by evil wizards.
Look at what no one ever has been demanding your respect for all this time, with all the JavaScript and Date() we built for them. This is real code, done by real developers.
Ambersand copy semicolon Copyright open squiggle new Date open bracket close bracker dot get full year close bracket close squiggly.
MANY QUESTION MARKS
Hello I would like copyright 2001 apples please.
They have played us for absolute fools.

They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.

freedom.press

Wired is dropping paywalls for FOIA-based reporting. Others should follow

As the administration does its best to hide public records from the public, Wired magazine is stepping up to help stem the secrecy
