Killing the OTA can only be understood as part of the broad, long-running conservative effort to make everyone—including and especially elected officials—dumber and more reliant on the private sector.

Brutalism gets so much hate now (sometimes fairly sometimes not), but just imagine how preposterous this kinda thing will look even ten years from now. So blatantly authoritarian! Cybertruck warehouse. Never mind the fact Frank Ocean decreed matte black to be “stale” almost a decade ago.

i'm tired of restaurants treating fries and tots as equally valid choices for a side. tots are an iterative improvement over fries by any metric we can measure. fries are a fully outdated technology. if you're still playing the fry meta in 2026 you're already behind the competition

bloomberg has a fun article today arguing that the Cybertruck is the biggest flop in automotive history. it includes this glorious graph.
A graph showing how the edsel and Cybertruck both performed based on their sales target and actual year one and year two sales. The edsel was expected to sell 200k units in its first year. It sold slightly over 50k, and less than 50k the next year

The Cybertruck had a sales.target of 250k in its first year. They sold around 40k, the next year they sold about half as many.

How long is a million seconds?

First, let me ask you a question: How long do you think a million seconds is? In terms of days, weeks, years, decades, or whatever.

Turns out it's 11.5 days. That's it. Less than two weeks.
How long is a billion seconds?

Now, how about a billion?

A billion seconds is 31.7 years.

So a million seconds ago was last week, and a billion seconds ago was 1993.
How long is a trillion seconds?

Okay, last one. How long do you think a trillion seconds is?

A trillion seconds is 31,689 years.

A trillion seconds ago, humans were still in the Stone Age. Writing hadn't been invented. Agriculture hadn't been invented. We were hunter-gatherers using basic tools.

Apple slices and peanut butter is the perfect snack because as long as you're reasonably close any amount of peanut butter can match any amount of apple. You just need to adjust as you go along and you're good.
