Let’s just stop this posting of often badly taken photos of plates of food (food photography requires some skill) and then doubling down by vacuously offering everyone to just come on down and try some. Ffs

THE KILLING FIELDS (1984) A film with one of the most extraordinary pieces of casting in movie history in Haing S. Ngor. He would go on to win an Oscar for his superb performance. Tragically he was murdered in Los Angeles in 1996 aged just 55.

So, if I understand Nigel Farage's argument correctly it is: "Everyone I trusted and elevated into a position of responsibility is constantly doing crimes that benefit me but of which I somehow have no knowledge. I am a man with the character, judgement, and intelligence to run the country." Ok.

Typically, weed and pizza go together in a very linear fashion: you smoke weed and then you order a pizza, invite the pizza guy in to smoke a bowl, eat the pizza, and then eat more pizza for breakfast. The pizza guy should have left the night before 🤣 cannigma.com/recipes/weed...

🧵 I decided to take a look at how the chemical weapon denialists were responding to the latest news out of Syria about chemical weapons, and this reply from Aaron Mate says a lot about the credibility of the denialists positions.
Aaron Mate X post - "This article is misleading. Not surprising coming from an outlet that has pretended that the OPCW's Douma cover-up scandal and the dissenting inspectors who challenged it don't exist.

Speaking of which, this discovery -- more than one year after Assad's ouster -- happens to come right after it emerged that dissenting inspector Dr. Brendan Whelan won his case against the OPCW. In the process, the OPCW admitted to suppressing a key finding that undermined its allegation that Syria used chemical weapons in Douma. Perhaps the timing is coincidental.

In any event, Reuters says here that "hexamine, a stabilization agent known to have been used by Assad's forces in sarin production" was found.

The OPCW doesn't even say that. But even if they did, the discovery doesn't necessarily mean it was for sarin production. Hexamine would be expected in a war zone: it's the basic ingredient for the explosive RDX.

No matter how many "discoveries" follow, nothing will change the fundamental fact that the OPCW has refused to address the extensively documented suppression of the Douma investigation."

The text in this image refers to "Reefer Madness," a well-known example of anti-marijuana propaganda from the 1930s.
"Reefer Madness" was originally a 1936 film intended to teach parents about the supposed dangers of cannabis use.
It became famous for its highly sensationalized and exaggerated depictions of the effects of the drug.

‘Succulent Chinese meal’ speech added to Australia’s National Film and Sound Archive
Jack Karlson’s rallying cry of ‘democracy manifest’ added to national collection of sound recordings that hold historical, cultural and aesthetic significance * Get our breaking news email, free app or daily news podcast Thirty-five years ago, when Jack Karlson was hauled into a police car outside a Chinese restaurant in Queensland, he couldn’t have known his bombastic speech would be watched by millions around the world, become a meme and now, be preserved for ever in Australia’s National Film and Sound Archive. Karlson’s declaration – “Gentlemen, this is democracy manifest! … What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal?” – is one of nine pieces of audio that have been added to the NFSA’s Sounds of Australia collection this year, along with a pedestrian crossing signal and Missy Higgins’ 2004 hit Scar.
