More fun with security envelopes #aceo
An ACEO- sized (2 1/2 inch by 3 1/2 inch) card of deckle edged paper with woven strips of security envelopes
The vertical strips are mostly blue, with one light gray and one in yellow, and the horizontal strips form a sort of gradient from light gray to a darker dense pattern. An ACEO sized (2.5 by 3.5 inches) piece of deckle edged paper with a rectangle of security envelope paper interwoven with strips of a different pattern. The rectangle looks like static on a CRT television. It is cut in a sort of starburst pattern, and the vertical strips have a random pattern of parallel dashes and dots.An ACEO sized (2.5 by 3.5 inches) piece of deckle edged paper with a rectangle of security envelope paper interwoven with strips of striped security envelope paper. Security envelopes #aceo
An aceo (Art card, editions, originals) sized art piece
Strips of security envelope paper, in patterns printed in black, blue, and red ink on white (one pattern on yellow paper) are woven to fit a 2 1/2 inch by 3 1/2 inch piece of printmaking paper. It reminds me of the quilts my grandmother made from clothing scraps.

Playing with #aceo size, another rabbit hole to follow 😬
A tiny woven collage of strips of vintage road maps, made to ACEO-size (Art Cards Editions and Originals) 2 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches. A translucent green ruler is at the bottom, showing the measured width of 2 1/2 inches.
It sits on a piece of off-white printmaking paper with torn edges.

@WendyMolyneux - I'm writing Spider Ma'am, about a middle aged woman who gets bitten by a radioactive spider but keeps it to herself because she doesn't freaking need this.

@MWindmueller - She probably just assumes that the new powers are another side effect of perimenopause, about which no one bothered to warn her.

Hey Bluesky, could you help me signal boost my Big Cartel shop? Jeremy Creatures are designed and hand-sewed by me, and they take many hours to create. jeremycreature.bigcartel.com
Here's a lovely photo of a plethora of hand-sewn fabric art creatures. There's a watermelon creature with a red face, eight black seed-like eyes, and a wide mouth with five sharp teeth. There's a white ghost trinket bag covered with purple embroidered flowers. She has a gray face, sparkly black eyes and a little frown. There's a strawberry creature with three bulbous green eyes. There's a watermelon ghost, and a black creature with sharp teeth wearing a bulbous eye earring. There's a large purple creature with many yellow eyes and an open mouth, with a little green creature popping her head out. All the creatures are sitting on green fur and there's a galaxy print fabric in the background.

May 18, 1980 | ~ 8:45 a.m. At their Maple Flats home along Spirit Lake Highway, some 20 mi. from Mount St. Helens, Gary Brault and family notice the sky above and to the east being swallowed by a boiling cloud of ash. Breakfast interrupted, Gary runs outside and photographs the rising monstrosity.
A closer view of the eruption cloud shows dense, cauliflower-like lobes of ash rolling and stacking against a clear blue sky, with power lines and hardware along the right edge. The plume’s top is sunlit, but the mass below looks darker and heavier as it expands. Photographer: G.E. Brault. Date taken: May 18, 1980. Courtesy: Washington Geological Survey. Location: Maple Flats, about 22 miles from Mount St. Helens.A massive ash column fills most of the sky, its billowing texture layered from bright white highlights to deeper gray-blue shadows, with leafy branches on the left and a power line slanting down at right. The scale of the plume dwarfs the nearby trees, making the neighborhood foreground feel small and exposed. Photographer: G.E. Brault. Date taken: May 18, 1980. Courtesy: Washington Geological Survey. Watched a reel of a young woman weaving quill paper strips, and it reminded me of one of the first crafts I could do as a kid. And because I am loathe to get rid of any scraps because they have “potential,” I decided to weave some map strips. Louisiana, Colorado, Chicago, North Carolina
A roughly 4 by 6” paper weaving of strips cut from old maps, varying in width from 1/8” to about 1/2”. Typical road map colors of light blue, light green, white and pale yellow, but some orange, pink, violet and purple from the inset maps of cities and neighborhoods. It rests on a page of an art notebook, creamy watercolor paper.
The best town name is “Lickskillet.”

Third day of mild migraine. Decided to draw the aura today.
My rendering of this morning’s visual aura before the third consecutive day of migraines. Black, yellow, and light green chevrons and zigzags. In experience they pulse and ripple, creating a blind spot. Drew it in between occasionally stirring the red beans and rice I started cooking right before the aura appeared. Luckily the worst symptoms are the sensitivity to light and sound. Headache pain and nausea minimal.
