What this has done in fact has simply moved content off the timeline and into private interactions with grok. So deepfake porn is still happening, in a less transparent way

This use of Grok isn't personal perversion but political terrorism: it's designed to silence women, make us retreat from public life. Exemplified by the digital desecration of the body of Renee Good: someone prompted Grok to deepfake a bikini on her corpse. "You're next" is the message to women.
Excerpt from "Mother Jones" magazine article reading:

"Grok, the AI chatbot launched by Elon Musk after his takeover of X, unhesitatingly fulfilled a user’s request on Wednesday to generate an image of Renee Nicole Good in a bikini—the woman who was shot and killed by an ICE agent that morning in Minneapolis, as noted by CNN correspondent Hadas Gold and confirmed by the chatbot itself.

“I just saw someone request Grok on X put the image of the woman shot by ICE in MN, slumped over in her car, in a bikini. It complied,” Gold wrote on the social media platform on Thursday. “This is where we’re at.”

Whenever I see men post this I think about how when women are lonely, it's not pitied. It's used to chastise them for not being nicer to men. Meanwhile, when men are experiencing a "loneliness epidemic" they decide the answer is *also* that women should be nicer to men.

Learning the etymology of words, because our brains love a good story, is phenomenal for remembering new vocabulary. And morphology (learning roots, suffixes, prefixes, etc) helps with remembering & guessing meaning of unfamiliar words too. #LangSky #etymology Top notch infographic with alt-text
Calques vs Loanwords by @StarkeyComics
——
A calque is a word or phrase that was coined by translating the components of a word or phrase in another language.
For example, the English word 'skyscraper has been calqued into Spanish by directly translating the words sky' and scraper', to give rascacielos'.
Example of a calque:
German -> Lehnwort
(morphemes translated)
English -> loan + word
loanword
——
A loanword is a word or phrase that was taken from one language to another.
For example, the English word "patio" is from the Spanish word patio, which means "patio". Loanwords make up between 70 and 80% of English vocabulary.
Example of a loanword:
French -> calque
(word borrowed)
English -> calque

If a colleague had the reliability rate of an LLM, they would be fired. If ordinary* software did, it would be uninstalled. LLMs require the chat format, because chat makes us party to the conversation. We insert the meaning ourselves - and hold it to a different standard. It's the mirror effect.

If a human told you things that were correct 80% of the time but claimed, flat out, with absolute confidence, that they were correct 100% of the time, you would dislike them & never trust a word they say. All I'm really suggesting is for people to treat chatbots with that same distrust & antagonism.

The Times finally reporting what we all could see: Musk was absolutely tripping balls the entire time he destroyed the government. Very polite of them to wait to drop this until he’d left the position. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/3…
Mr. Musk’s drug consumption went well beyond occasional use. He told people he was taking so much ketamine, a powerful anesthetic, that it was affecting his bladder, a known effect of chronic use. He took Ecstasy and psychedelic mushrooms. And he traveled with a daily medication box that held about 20 pills, including ones with the markings of the stimulant Adderall, according to a photo of the box and people who have seen it.
