The Judge says "she will appoint UChicago Consitutional law expert William Baude as an outside counsel. He'll be charged with filing an Amicus Brief that would clarify what powers the judge has under the consitution to appoint a special prosecutor and who that prosecutor would ultimately answer to."

Columbia will continue to offer its Master of Science programs in Journalism and Data Journalism. Current M.A. students are not affected by the pause. The estimated cost of attendance for the nine-month M.A. for the 2026-2027 year is roughly $120,000. The M.S. costs around $130,000 and the year-long M.S. in Data Journalism costs about $180,000. According to Columbia, around 80% of students receive some sort of financial aid.

The White House has taken steps to ensure local ALPR systems are fed into the “High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area” (HIDTA) program. For example: cities in Georgia can't operate ALPR systems without signing a “memorandum of understanding” (MOU) in which they promise to send their data to a HIDTA.

diesel trades on a world market, just like corn. farmers don't sell cheaper to Americans, and refiners can't either since they buy crude at global prices. force a lower price and they'll make less diesel. less supply means higher prices, not lower.
