This guy literally packed the courts because Utahns passed an anti-gerrymandering referendum and the state Supreme Court justices, many of whom he appointed, repeatedly sided with the people over him and his fellow Republicans. Spare me the white man tears www.nbcnews.com/politics/pol...

Dividing up AI users in 3 categories: Wizard: approaches AI academically & with appropriate guards & wards. Treats it like a tool. Warlock: Makes a pact for power with an alien entity without considering the costs. Is corrupted by the whispers. Cleric: worships their new machine god. Is insane.

This is pretty fucking wild. I had assumed in a worst case scenario he would target blue zip codes and toss ballots based on technicalities but this is even worse than I imagined.
Not only is this system astonishingly untested, USPS has simultaneously implemented an
impracticable zero percent failure rate.
13 When ballots are submitted to USPS in large-volume
batches, if any one ballot in the batch cannot be verified against the Portal, all ballots in that
batch will be rejected. For example, if a state election official brings a batch of 10,000 ballots to
USPS and USPS is unable to match just one of those ballots against the Portal – because, for
example, someone has recently changed their name after marriage or they’ve moved – then
USPS would refuse to mail the remaining 9,999 ballots as well. As the whistleblower notes,

People will say the big 3 didn't see it coming but US auto executives knew this was happening 15 years ago and largely acted accordingly, making huge investments in EV tech and lobbying the US govt for subsidies to those investments. Then Trump got reelected and it all got thrown out the window

Ugh. Supreme Court rules in Slaughter, 6-3 that Trump can fire people from the FTC. But in Cook, Court rules 5-4 that Trump cannot fire everybody from the Fed. Roberts writes both majority opinions There's no real difference between the FTC and the FED other than Roberts likes the Fed.

this wouldn’t work legally because a President has no authority to remove a Supreme Court justice. however the President could instead simply drone strike them. it sounds like i’m being snarky but as a result of the immunity decision this is the actual law.

Can I point out that Maria's response that "Trump likes the military because he has a toy plane on his desk" is the same way a 9 year old likes the military? This is not a serious understanding of what the military is or what it stands for. It's military toy/weapon fetishism.

I think this relies on the DoD's doctrinal definition, which is "If we suck at it, it isn't conventional warfare." If you're fighting an insurgency where you aren't even on the ground and they're launching TBMs at you, it isn't an insurgency.
