Daily bunny no.3221 is a night owl
A bunny sits in their room late at night, watching a livestream of a video game of some kind. The only light is from the laptop, and the bunny is watching intently.

This image is a meme using characters from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine to express a strong opinion on labor strikes within the video game industry.
The first character asks if game developers should strike.
The second character responds that all exploited workers should strike.
The first asks if this is true even if it disrupts the industry.
The second emphasizes that it should happen especially if it causes disruption.

SONDER (2025), a short comic about a soul who leaves their body while sleeping to go explore the world 🗺️ 1/8
Panel 1:
A soul, SONDER, is escorted by two angels down an ethereal path lined with stars. They are winged and have flower blooms for heads, but otherwise look humanoid. The surrounding realm is dark and has no color.

Panel 2:
SONDER is sat down in an ornate chair in a large room; the space behind them is a latticed gothic wall that vaguely resembles a confessional booth.

Panel 3:
Upshot of the CLERK: a bespectacled, celestial deer-headed being with an imposing presence, resembling a judge with a large open book in front of them.

1. CLERK: You’ve been a tricky soul to track down.

Panel 4:
SONDER looks listlessly up from their chair. The CLERK remains impassive.

1. SONDER: Am I in trouble?
2. CLERK: Let’s find out.

Panel 5:
The stars behind the CLERK’s head take on more humanoid shapes.

CLERK: 4. You see, I track every human soul that ventures too far from their bodies while dreaming, and guide them back. 5. I see everyone. I know everyone.

Panel 6:
A view of the CLERK’s open book. The name on the page is scrawled over and illegible.

CLERK: 6. But somehow, I do not know you. I cannot discern your name, nor where you come from, nor where you go. 7. So I’m curious… who are you?

Panel 7:
SONDER holds their hands, makes themself small.

8. SONDER : I’m no one.
9. CLERK: Is that so? State your case. Why should I let you roam free?

Panel 8:
Close-up on SONDER, who looks to be dissociating.

10. SONDER: Because I’m hungry.
11. CLERK (off-panel): Hungry? For what?

"My husband complains about the cold," the man said. "Can you teach me a spell to keep him warm?" "I can teach you to bind hair into a net to catch heat," the wizard said, "using arcane counting and a pair of fine wands." After a while, the man said "Isn't this knitting?" "This, too, is magic."

Mspaint doodle- a person strides forward, wearing a shirt with a trans flag. They say "I LOVE being trans!". They have an expression of pure glee. The person is stopped by someone else, who accusingly points while they say "You! Justify your happiness to me!"The accosting person says "Debate me no-". They are cut off by the person in the trans shirt saying "No thank you!" as lasers shoot from their eyes, exploding the head of the other character in a cartoonish fashion. The accosting person stands, alive but expressionless as their headless torso smolders. The person in the trans shirt walks away, a stupidly happy grin still present.

A small, ancillary detail in this horror that made me cry
The fear and trauma gripping the Twin Cities comes in many forms. Reilly, the observer, shared how her children grew fearful for her safety after hearing about Renee Good’s murder by ICE. “They came to me and they said, ‘Mommy, we don't want you to get shot. You're a lesbian and they shot a lesbian.”

Even so, Reilly and Nelson feel it’s their duty as white women to help protect their neighbors of color. “We might not have been alive for Stonewall, but by God, we're alive for this,” Reilly said. And what they witnessed on Sunday has only strengthened their commitment to observing and bearing witness.

THE FOOD SCENE
HELEN, HELP ME: ON THE PHENOMENOLOGY OF CHEESEBURGERS
A New Yorker food critic answers questions about burger toppings, beef tallow, and the subjectivity of memory.
By Helen Rosner
January 18, 2026How do you approach the sweetness of
pickle relish on a cheeseburger? Does it
complement or compete with ketchup? There was a legendary place in Cambridge, Massachusetts, that used to do mustard, relish, and ketchup, and I can't for the life of me decide if I loved it, or if I just loved being there in the middle of the night eating it. — Brian K., N.Y. C.

Honestly, I've never really considered pickle relish to be one of the hamburger's totemic toppings.
Sliced pickle rounds, certainly; spears on the side, without a doubt. But relish, that finely chopped, neon-hued, marmalade-textured stuff? To me, that's a hot-dog thing-which I mention here not to issue judgment but rather to illustrate how distinct my own personal associations are from your own. Herein, I think, lies the answer to your real question, which is not actually about the sweetness of the relish. The question of what toppings make a burger great, while we're eating it, is both technical and trivial, having to do with the nature of the patty and the bun, the mood of the establishment serving it, the sensibilities of the person eating it, even the time of day or night or life.Regarding the substance of the burger itself, the same accoutrements that might show a slim, lacey-edged smash patty in its best light—a little slick of mustard, a few circles of raw onion, and a melty cap of American cheese, say-might be too flimsy against the brawny heft of a half-pound bar burger that can sustain degrees of sweetness, richness, and piquancy (your barbecue sauces, your secondary meats, your nontraditional cheeses) that would suffocate a smaller patty. But what you're really asking, I think, is what makes a burger great not as it's being eaten but as it lives on in memory.
Or, more to the point, how can we know that our memories of happiness are true? I spend an inordinate portion of my professional life creeping around in my own psyche, untangling knots of nostalgia and pleasure and, god, so many emotions, not least self-love and self-loathing, all of them unavoidable colorants of any bite I take. I give myself the task of locating some sort of unassailable, uncontaminated truth: that this dish of dumplings, or that cocktail, or such-and-such restaurant is actually, inarguably, wonderful. It's impossible, of course, and more than a little absurd, but it's so irresistible, isn't it, to attempt to discharge the burden of our own experience? Was that burger you ate from the Tasty, in Harvard Square? I think it must have been, and it's been nearly thirty years since that perfect little sandwich shop closed forever. I imagine it was a simple construction: a bun, a patty, a slice of cheese, ketchup, mustard, relish. But you created it, just as much as the white-capped guy standing at the grill did. The mouth and brain and cascade of sensations were yours. There is no true burger per se, lurking behind your experience of it; it didn't become the burger you ate until you ate it.
It's a ludicrous idea, this notion of an objective culinary truth, but it's even more ludicrous that we're so quick to doubt our own taste in pursuit of it. Just as I go looking for proof that my rapture— or, at times, misery—at a given meal has nothing at all to do with me, here you are wondering whether you should append an asterisk to your reminiscence of a long-ago cheeseburger, one that you could never eat again, even if the Tasty were still up and running. Why question a recollection of sweetness, even of the pickle variety? You did love the relish. And you love the person you see in your memory: a young man, awake in the middle of the night, a burger topped with relish in his hands.

The jump in storage capacity from Nintendo 64 cartridges to GameCube discs allowed the developers to be astonishingly generous with the storage in comparison. A Super Mario Sunshine cutscene of a single image fading in and out is larger than the entirety of Super Mario 64.
