A visual guide on folding an 8-page mini zine.

1) Fold long-edge to long-edge (hot dog style, depending on where you went to school)

2) Fold that in half, short-edge to short-edge.

3) Fold THAT in half, short-edge to short-edge again. It will resemble a tiny book but its not done yet.

4) Unfold the entire thing. Notice the 8 compartments you have created with the creases from folding. You can mark your zine pages if needed at this time. One side will be...
From Left to right: Back Cover, Front Cover, Page 1, Page 2
the second side is, once FLIPPED AROUND:
pages 3, 4, 5, and 6

Once you are ready...

5) Fold again short-edge to short-edge. Cut at the center inwards on the crease, just one compartment's worth, and only that much. This creates a hole in the center of your piece of paper once unfolded again.

6) Unfold.

7) Fold over once more hot dog style, long-edge to long-edge

8) Take your fingers and gently prop open the center hole of the piece of paper once folded over. It should look diamond-shaped once popped open.

9) Gently make the two points of the diamond kiss, inwardly pushed until it creates a "pinwheel" look and then fold it around to bring your cover page to the front of the folded booklet. You now have created an 8 page booklet. Fill it with your writing!
