TW: mention of rape I love the idea of Sora briefly considering letting Aerith believe his pregnancy is a rape baby, because at least that's not as shameful as being some stupid kid that got screwed by a man a lil' too eager to deflower him.

You want diverse art that is complex nuanced and deals with weighty themes? you are not going to get it from the big money companies. you need to embrace art that is unpolished, low budget, rough around the edges, and imperfect.

Even if a trope has been written a million times, every author adds their own unique spin and examination to their works — and trust me, fans of the genre you write will never be upset to see another addition to it. (I have to remind myself of this, too!)

LRT it’s always easier said than done — especially if you put a lot into a piece that it seems like nobody really cares for. But I have to admit that, when I’m in a healthier state of mind, I love that my works are very much things *I* want to read, niche as they are at times.

I know its kinda over said but: You will have the most fun, and write your best work, when you start writing for an audience of yourself. Not only are the stories easier to write because you're having fun, but when you don't care whether or not others read you actually write BETTER with no pressure

I say that I don't do writing commissions because I'm a perfectionist and feel pressured when money is involved. But money is REALLY tight. 🙃 If I could make additional $$$ doing something I'm good at, that'd really help and be a win-win, I think. Question is if anyone would be interested.

Y'all. I know you're tired of my running on about this, and I *want* to give you a break over the weekend, but I CAN'T fail these cats. They need a HOME. They're affectionate, relaxed and in decent health, and their issues are MINOR and EASILY MANAGEABLE. All we need is to find That Person.

I really do love writing Sora as a teenage boy who represses a lot of resentment and desire… only for it to bite him in the ass. Exploring the dread of pregnancy through someone like that feels really satisfying.

I really am destined to write for very niche topics, aren't I? 😅 While a few folks do write for pregnancy (pic 1), but not nearly so many broach the matter of abortion (pic 2). Only ONE has specifically had Sora dealing with it. Uncharted territory, I guess!
