I sat at the dining room table, trying to find something to calm the accelerated beating of my heart in my vhest. He looked absored in writing, but I was sure he could hear it. I could hear it in my ears, making everything else sound fuzzy.

“How did you sleep?” Josh asked without even looking up. He was forcused on the paper in front of him.

“Uh, I slept well... Sir.” I add the title at the end, still not confident in my use of it. I flex my fingers together nervously as I watch him. “It was a little weird having the heat on.”

“Excellent.”

I watch as he shuffles the papers toward me. “This is a contract, Jayden. It stipulates all of the things we will be discussing. I want to go over it with you, clause-by-clause, word-by-word so you understand it completely.”

I look down at the document in front of me, “Wow, this is really ... professional.”

“The Circle doesn’t take this kind of thing lightly, Jayden. We are not a bunch of amateurs that think this is something ‘fun’ to do in our spare time.”

#Octember | Oct 3/26 Nyx would have no problem. He would boil the blood with his mind which would cause Godzilla to explode. Noble night have a bit of trouble though. He would probably try and use his chain weapon (a chain with razorlike attachments) to saw off Godzilla's legs.

I can tell from the look on his face, he is just as mesmerized, “Wow. This is much different from what I had originally booked. Do you see this staircase? It is SPIRAL. I have never, in my entire existence, ever been somewhere that has a spiral staircase. That shit is for the movies or something.” I watch as he ascends the staircase, twisting all the way up. “Holy shit, Daxton.” He looks over the railing of the loft wall, “Free fucking champagne, and it is the good stuff. There’s also a bunch of rose petals everywhere. Very romantic.”

“It is the honeymoon suite.” I snort-laugh, “It would be kind of weird if there weren’t some perks for having this room.” I start up the stairwell when I hear a popping sound. “You’re opening it, aren’t you?” I get to the top of the stairs to see him pouring two glasses. “Unless they do that so you drink it and then they charge you five-hundred percent of its value… Seriously Daelan? What if that two-hundred dollar bottle of champagne is now like … a thousand dollars?” I put my hands on my hips as I gave him a stern look.

He turns around with a sheepish grin on his face, “I hope not because there is no way this liquid is going back in that bottle. Not happening.” He walks over and hands me a glass, “Might as well enjoy it then, no?”

Nikita growled, looking over at Noble. “Why does the human male smell like you, Nyx? What have you done?” Her claws protracted out of her hand a whole foot. She slammed her hand against the metal door, leaving a pretty substantial dent. “Did you bond with him?”

I stepped in front of Noble, growling right back at her, a fierce need to protect him surging throughout every vein in my body. “That is none of your business, Nikita. I am not here to discuss my life with you.”

Her laugh echoed against the walls of the facility, “Of course not, brother. You never had much interest in having the familiar bond the rest of us had.” As she moved forward, her eyes started glowing a deep red. “I suppose I can pay you back for when you killed Estevon. I felt that pain for years.”

My own claws protracted as I watched her carefully, “He was a menace to our kind, nothing more. You knew I couldn’t let him live after what he did to that monastery.”

Nikita shrieked, lunging forward to take a swipe at the both of us.

I start running, catching up to him as he is trying to crawl down to the river bank, my hand wrapping around his ankles and pulling him back up. He claws at the ground, screaming as I pull him up.

“No! Please! Stop!” He lets out a loud but petrified growl, “I didn’t do anything! Leave me alone.”

He dangles in the air by his foot, swaying as he tries to get out of my grip. I can smell him now more than ever, this is the scent I was looking for, this was the person I was looking for these last few weeks. He looks hurt, dirty, and hungry. He tries to take a few swipes at me, his claws extended slightly, but he is weak and can’t reach me properly.

“You.” I sniff the air around him, the scent plain as day.I look him in the eyes, seeing the fear, but also seeing the exhaustion that has taken him over. I see the rip in his clothing, a large injury on his abdomen. “What happened to you?”

He struggles for a few more minutes before giving up, a look of resignation hitting his features, “Just kill me, please. Don’t take me back to them, I will do anything.” His voice sounds so defeated, which causes my chest to tighten in sadness.

“You don’t strike me as the ‘have kids’ kind of guy. Or maybe I am mistaken.” His eyes widen as he starting stumbling on his words , “Sorry, that sounded awful. I’m not saying you would be a bad dad or anything and if you want kids, that’s super cool. You just never seemed like the type to want kids. But, I guess that would have changed in the last six years…” He is rambling and I find myself with a small smile on my face despite myself.

“Nah, you aren’t wrong. Child-Free by choice. I am a pretty good uncle, but I don’t think I want to have little me’s running around and making the same mistakes I made. Mom always said I was a terror in my toddler years, she said when I have kids they will pay me back in spades.” I let out a genuine laugh, which catches me off guard, “I think she is disappointed I decided not to have children, because now I won’t feel the terrible two’s like she did.”

He rolls his eyes, “You were a terror even when you were a teenager.” The smile on his face is subtle but I know he is teasing me, “It’s probably a good thing you don’t have children, you would age twenty years in the span of five years.”

I reach over and playfully shove him, “Fuck you, Daelan. I was a god damn gem. If I was so bad, why did we spend so much time together?” I give him a knowing look, a sly smile resting on my lips.

“Aaron? Are you awake?”

His voice gently wakes me up, I look over from my sleeping position on my back, he is looking at me as he is propped up on an elbow. He looks like he just had a ‘come to Jesus moment’. “Kind of, what time is it?”

“It’s three in the morning. I had an idea, but before you answer … hear me out, completely. No interjecting with your thoughts half way through.” He gives me this look he’s been giving me since we were kids, the look like I am about to argue with him, but he knows me pretty well.

I roll my eyes but sit up, “Fine. I will shut my big fucking mouth until you’re done. But, you know I hate when you start off a conversation like that.”

He sits up as well, “Yeah yeah. You know what you do, don’t make me say it out loud.” He turns to look at me, sitting crossed-legged on the bed. “What if, instead of trying to cancel this honeymoon and shit… you come with me instead?”

My eyes are now fully open as I stare at him, trying to process what exactly was happening, what he was asking. I sat there for a few minutes, my brain trying to figure out the proper thing to say without sounding like a crazy person.

“Race you to the gate.”

Before I can even respond, he is already booking it through the airport. I let out a surprised, joyful laugh as I started jogging to catch up with him, “Hey! No fair. You cheated.” I weave through the crowds, slipping in between people and service animals, a stupid grin on my face as I laugh. I trail behind him a bit as we get to our destination gate. I’m panting softly, the stupid, boyish grin not leaving my face. “You didn’t win fair and square, asshole.”

He lets out this breathless laugh, a smile lighting up his whole face, “You were the one in track and field, what happened to your record-breaking speed, Daxton? Old age catching up with you?”

“Old age!?” I act mock offended. “I’ll have you know I haven’t even reached my prime yet.” I playfully nudge him as he walks to the counter, handing the gate attendant his boarding pass. I follow suit before heading into the plane with him. We find our seats, business-class again, and sit down. “Okay, you said you also brought Maximum Overdrive, don’t think I forgot, we are definitely watching that.”

Traumamuffins hey? The first that comes to mind is Yohan and York, one they open up. They are pretty stand-off at first. Eventually, once they realize they are actually safe, they open up tremendously. Yuri is an extremely patient Alpha for them.

Enzo appeared at the top of the stairs wearing the tailored suit we had just purchased.

“My my, Enzo, you look absolutely ravishing. I think I am going to be the envy of everyone at this party.”

A small sound between a giggle and a groan came out of Enzo’s lips. “Shut up. You say that regardless of what I wear.”

“And regardless of what you wear, you are the most gorgerous man in any room. Are you ready to go or do I have to come up there and get you? I cannot promise if I do, we shall leave right away either.”

Enzo playfully rolled his eyes as he started down the steps, “I just got dressed and now you want to undress me? Eron, please.”

As Enzo got to the bottom of the steps, I nipped at his bottom lip, “You’re most gorgeous when you’re naked.”
