While the nation turns against Flock and mass surveillance, SF’s Democratic Central Committee—a body with two Flock employees on it—just voted to double down on Flock and mass surveillance. SF Democratic Party leadership is a disgrace right now. Completely captured by conservative tech oligarchs.

Flock is under fire. SF’s moderate Democrats are doubling down on the cameras
Flock has lost contracts in many blue cities, but San Francisco leaders are largely defending SFPD’s use of surveillance devices.

That NYT/Siena poll also has Mamdani +5 *nationally* among likely voters. Newsom nationally is like -8, Harris -7. 2025 was such a wacky time for the Democratic Party consultant-pundits, who called Mamdani one of the "most unpopular Democrats in the country"

If Democrats were serious they would go straight for the jugular of the crypto industry as soon as they take power. There’s public policy reasons to do this (name a non-crime use case), but also it cuts off a major artery for Republican support and corruption.

I feel like we are just getting to the tip of the iceberg on the astroturf campaign around “Abundance”. I snapped this photo at my local SF library earlier this year. Six copies, no other book came close. Now that’s what I call abundance!

Here in San Francisco the sneaky way we’re getting our Flock cameras is that Mayor Lurie lets his billionaire friends buy them as a “gift” to the city. Don’t need to argue over budgets when oligarchs get to pick their pet projects

It's not that universal healthcare = no fascism. People in France are being squeezed the same as people in the US. Yes, they are starting from a better place having universal healthcare, but decline is decline and feels bad even with healthcare. People are going to look for someone to blame.

I’ve always heard when you’re a political party trying to win and there’s a subject you think is a loser for your side, a huge liability. What you want to do is go on national tv and really focus all your attention on that issue. It’s why you see everyone Republican railing about Epstein.

The fundraising texts you delete are working on someone. It’s infuriating and heartbreaking. An 85yo in Ohio gave more than double the value of his home. A 91yo in an Indianapolis senior facility gave 25K times. The DCCC/DSCC don’t just tolerate the spammers who exploit seniors. They take part.

San Francisco's per capita police spending is higher than anywhere else in the country, by a longshot. Last year, San Francisco budgeted $1,017 on policing for every resident. New York City came in a distant second at $746 per resident.

Medicare For All idea for the next dem administration, create a new branch of the military, anyone can enlist, everyone is accepted, no service required. Membership gives you access to some sort of expanded version TRICARE. Downside, everyone’s technically a troop, upside, everyone has healthcare.
