It's amazing how Hunt keeps popping up on the media as the wise old greybeard of the Exchequer, and is absolutely never questioned on his own disastrous - and highly partisan - choices in that job.

I gotta say nobody is falling for Trump’s tall tales about a great diesel deal to benefit Americans, a diplomatic strategy to restart peace talks, and the bad Zelensky who doesn’t want peace. Everyone understands what’s going on— Trump is helping Russia and trying to force Ukraine to surrender.

Top three articles on the Times website are currently a barrage of hate against funding for disabled people, including an attack on Access to Work *which is money to help disabled people find/stay in paid work*

I see the Times is going full on attack disabled individuals as scroungers and layabouts with no consideration for how PIP is not an "out of work benefit" and how for many it is essential support to actually work and live.

It seems indisputable that this is fact, and that Burnham has read intelligence service documents that have details. The public question shouldn’t be ‘what effect did it have?’ Because that cant be proved or litigated. It should be ‘why did Putin think Russia’s interests would be served by this?’

I'm gobsmacked by ministers' failure to defend Burnham's claim about Russian interference in Brexit (and Tories' claim that he has no proof of it) when there were well-documented troll farms, funded by Russia, spewing out aggressive pro-Brexit attacks on social media at the time

…they’ve wasted that opportunity. I now think the return of Carol and this Alan storyline with the histrionics from Anna are simply an unpleasant, totally unnecessary ‘interesting’ storyline that will see the lovely, kind Alan lose everything. Sometimes I hate the editor and his team. #TheArchers

As the details were being entered into Carol’s banking app (annoyingly I can’t remember whether it was by Carol or Alan), the one doing it was being distracted by the other’s chatter. I remember thinking that there’d be trouble ahead as the amount would be much more than was due. #TheArchers

What a country we have become when the RNLI has to post things like this. Just over 1% of their total rescue work is in the Channel. Meanwhile Reform and Restore continue to badmouth the service.

The RNLI is a charity that exists to save lives at sea.

But recent events have generated deliberate misinformation and a misunderstanding about our purpose and our lifesaving work in the Channel.

As a result, some of our volunteers and staff have been the subject of online and, in some cases, physical abuse.

This is unacceptable.

The RNLI's people represent the very best of society. For over two hundred years they have dedicated themselves to rescuing people they've never met before, without judgment, fear or favour.

We are tasked by HM Coastguard to help those in distress, and we'll do so whenever, wherever and whoever they are.

We launched 9,058 times in 2025.

Only 109 of those launches were to those in distress in the Channel - 1.2% of our total rescue work. Anyone rescued from a small boat by the RNLI is then taken into the care of the relevant UK authorities.

To those who stand with the RNLI, thank you. For more than two hundred years, we've saved lives at sea around the UK and Ireland, and that commitment remains unchanged.

If someone acts on their 'concerns' by attacking people in their homes and by biting and throwing rocks at cops, no one should assess if those concerns are 'legitimate' or not. That violent behaviour waives any claim to 'legitimacy'. The phrase comes across as justifying violence, not condeming it.

2) and 3) are intimately linked, in that the BBC (the organisation that really matters in the modern environment) treats 'claims by rival parties' as the operating frame for how it covers everything. The failure from Labour and the Conservatives to say 'this stuff is bad' is really, really bad.
