"COVID-19 Triggers Autoimmune Diseases Long After Infection" Researchers analysed 8 large studies involving tens of millions of people across 6 countries. All found the same pattern: people who recovered from COVID-19 had a higher risk of later developing autoimmune diseases. archive.md/6MwhU
An article from Thailand Medical News, published on July 29, 2026, is titled "COVID-19 Triggers Autoimmune Diseases Long After Infection". The text outlines a systematic review showing that while the individual risk remains relatively low, COVID-19 infection may increase the likelihood of developing various autoimmune conditions months after recovery, particularly following severe illness.
Below the text, a digital graphic features a woman viewed from behind, with her nervous system illuminated in blue and glowing, multi-coloured Y-shaped antibodies superimposed across her back. To her left, a large, detailed red coronavirus particle floats. To her right, six circular insets illustrate parts of the body targeted by autoimmune responses: a brain, a thyroid gland, inflamed hand joints, an inflamed digestive tract, blood vessels, and a knee joint.

"When Lifelong Runners Are Forced to Quit" Matt Fitzgerald, 55, finished 50 marathons before developing long COVID in 2020. The illness left him unable to walk. He spent 3 years completely unable to run at all, finding that exercise only made his condition worse. Source: archive.md/PEXza
A screenshot of a The New York Times article by Liz Krieger, published on June 30, 2026.
The large bold headline reads, "When Lifelong Runners Are Forced to Quit." The subheadline reads, "For those who rely on the sport for identity and community, leaving it behind can feel like a form of grief."
A large, vertically framed photograph features a woman with curly brown hair, identified as Jamie Panzarella, age 51. She sits barefoot on wide outdoor wooden steps, wearing a pink t-shirt and dark pants. Her arms are resting on her knees as she stares directly into the camera with a somber, serious expression. Green trees and foliage fill the background.
The caption beneath the photograph reads: "Jamie Panzarella, 51, had to give up running a few years ago. She used to run nearly every day. Jordan Vonderhaar for The New York Times".

"POTS - the condition leaving Australians bedridden that doctors say medicine has missed." "For years, many patients with dizziness, exhaustion and racing heartbeats were told it was anxiety. Doctors now say a little-known post-COVID condition is emerging as a major health challenge in Australia"
An article from The Daily Telegraph website, dated June 11, 2026, features the headline: "POTS - the condition leaving Australians bedridden that doctors say medicine has missed." The subheading notes that patients' symptoms like dizziness, exhaustion, and racing hearts were long dismissed as anxiety, but doctors now recognize POTS as a fast-growing post-Covid health challenge.
The piece is written by Danielle Gusmaroli. Below the text is a photograph of a young woman with long, wavy brown hair, wearing a leopard-print top, posing outdoors with a sprawling residential valley and hills in the background. The caption under the image states, "POTS is a crippling condition that impacts almost one million Australians."

I think I was about four years old when I realised that droplets could travel more than 3-6ft. So even that was a ridiculous theory. My dad’s sneezing in the morning transported a snot ball clear across the kitchen once. It landed in my breakfast.

This is Bear, Australia's most famous koala detection dog. After a decade of service, he's retiring. He's located hundreds of injured or displaced koalas after forest fires. We're told his retirement will be filled with rest, cuddles, and maybe a little mischief. 15/10
a gray and white australian koolie with bright blue eyes looks directly at the camera with a tongue-out smile. he's wearing a blue vest and the sun shines down upon him.Bear stands on charred ground wearing his blue vest and red booties. he looks up toward the sky. he's presumably found a koala high up in a tree.Bear sits low to the ground on a sandy beach. the waves of the ocean come in behind him, but he's too focused on the orange and yellow ball sitting in front of him to notice.

A meme composed of three panels showing the same scene with different mask scenarios to illustrate the effectiveness of face coverings.
•	Top Panel: Labelled "No Masks," it shows two people facing each other in the cold. Both are exhaling large, thick clouds of white vapor that meet in the middle.
•	Middle Panel: Labelled "One Mask," the person on the left is now wearing a white face mask. Their vapor cloud is significantly reduced and contained, while the unmasked person on the right still exhales a large cloud.
•	Bottom Panel: Labelled "Two Masks," both individuals are wearing white face masks. There are no visible vapor clouds between them.
The bottom of the image has a caption in all caps that reads: "NOW DO YOU GET IT?"

This is exactly why language matters: “women were given the vote” frames equality as a gift from men, instead of hard won political power extracted through organized resistance. Nobody gave women anything. Women fought, marched, strategized, endured violence, went to prison and died for it.

A new highly transmissible COVID-19 variant is spreading in Australia. Experts warn it spreads faster, may cause distinct early symptoms, and highlights the need to protect vulnerable people.
