Bronx residents will be exempted from new Medicaid work requirements due to the county's high unemployment rate. New York notified CMS that it intends to implement this hardship exemption. The threshold = 8% unemployment rate or 1.5x the national average (whichever is less).

Does he really think it won't be his legacy too? Everyone who has even vaguely followed this knew a public health catastrophe would happen as a result of RFK Jr. Cassidy could have tanked the nomination, but he chose not to. It's Cassidy's legacy too.

So important to bring the science on sepsis and antimicrobial stewardship together. In our work in 20 hospitals, top performers on timely abx for sepsis almost always overtreated patients without sepsis and top performers on avoiding overtx almost always undertreated pts with true sepsis

FDA approval for Daraxonrasib is an important step with hopefully meaningful improvements in the care of patients with pancreatic cancer. But even with these improvements diagnosis is often late stage and the prognosis is still pretty grim.

NEW: CDC’s chief blocked a covid vaccine study. Now it’s in a top medical journal. The study in JAMA Network Open used the same methodology that CDC’s Jay Bhattacharya criticized when the paper was not allowed to be published in CDC’s MMWR. My story. www.washingtonpost.com/health/2026/...

CDC’s chief blocked a covid vaccine study. Now it’s in a top medical journal.
The study found that the vaccine reduced the risk of emergency department visits and hospitalizations among healthy adults by about half last winter.
