Shouldn't this key Dublin institution remain as central as possible, and ideally on the Liffey, which is the physical and symbolic spine of the city. Not moving further into the southside, adding to the neglect of the city centre? But interested to hear more informed views than my own on this.

Public Consultation on the College Green and Dame Street public realm is now live for the next two weeks, link below: engage.dublincity.ie/en-IE/projec...
An illustration of the proposed College Green and Dame Street Public realm plan.

A central spine of green spaces fills the northern edge of the space from the junction of Dame Street and South Great George's Street in the west /left of the image. A winding path cuts through this space and diagonal crossing paths to side streets break it up into smaller segments.

At the junction of Foster Place and Church Lane the space changes to a large central lawn feature.

East of this is a public plaza in front of the Bank of Ireland and Trinity College.

A dedicated access path crosses the space to allow for deliveries and cycling, from west to east. This path veers to the northern side of the space to access Westmoreland Street and College Street at the Bank of Ireland. This path is indicated by a dotted line. An illustration of the potential landscaping of the College Green and Dame Street public realm, looking east from Dame Street towards the front of Trinity College.

Grass and raised planters are depicted either side of a winding path.

Outdoor seating lines the buildings to the left of the image, with wide pedestrian areas opening up to a public plaza closer to Trinity College.A presentation board detailing the traffic access arrangements throughout the proposed new public realm of College Green and Dame Street, including adjacent side streets.

Text describing the project boarders the image on the right hand side.

An accessible description guide is available as document no. 10 as part of the consultation materials.
