Japan has lowered the statutory speed limit on most of its residential streets from 60 km/h to 30 km/h, effective 1 September. The new limit applies automatically to roads narrower than 5.5…

The entire right wing ecosystem, from politics to media to business, is just for-profit contrarianism. The formula is: they name a real shortcoming of the imperfect status quo and once they got you they sell you horseshit that's much, much worse

Fine either way but the sample is small and reads more or less as you’d expect it to if it wasn’t AI as well. My only experience of pangram was using it on content that I wrote with AI assistance and it rated it 100% all human fwiw. I hear it has a good rep but that was all I could test for free 🤷‍♂️

One of reasons that the whole attmepted rank pulling thing people do about being “protest elders” or “hardcore longtime activists” isn’t something you have to necessarily respect is because at a certain point its clear this shit is just your hobby, like you just like going to protests.

I teach statutory interpretation. For part of the course we look at how to translate policy ideas into final legislation - identifying the need to legislate, crafting wording, advice from officials, select committees, SOPs etc etc. The eg we use is conversion practices: a short piece of topical law.

This is plainly the situation: there is no fair hearing for anyone on the left, there is only a wall of implacable hostility and contempt. Denying this, is just whistling past the graveyard. Any great plans we might have for the future need to recognise this is the starting point.

Time to pull out of the neoliberal death spiral. Vote Green. ✅✅ #nzpol
A truly budget image, produced entirely in MSPaint. A headshot of Luxon looking particularly vitriolic, on a blue background, with the text "MAKE THINGS WORSE" below it. Beside that, a headshot of Hipkins, looking like someone asked him how he might improve someone's life (he has no idea), on a red background, with the text "KEEP THEM THAT WAY" below it.

Both these sides have alternated being in charge for decades and the march downwards has been spectacular in its consistency. Ardern briefly looked to break that pattern and was hounded out of politics and the country entirely by the absolute worst people on the planet.
