NEW: Oxford scientists have identified how rare populations of abnormal cells drive the formation and persistence of fistulas - painful, tunnel-like tracts that develop in around 30% of people with Crohn’s disease. Crohn’s disease affects around 1 in every 650 people.

To conclude our #RareDiseaseDay series, we spoke with @ellouka.bsky.social, a clinician scientist researching Paediatric Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) and Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukaemia (JMML). These are incredibly rare childhood cancers, with no current treatment options available. 🧪

MuSpAn is a starting point, not the end stage! We've been working hard to finalise the behind the scenes infrastructure, but now the array of available methods will just keep expanding. In particular, our group works on method development for spatial data - new methods will keep appearing here!
