Why doesn't Labor work with the Greens to tax gas? Why doesn't Labor work with the Greens to build public housing? Why doesn't Labor work with the Greens to end AUKUS? Greens are happy to be constructive about things that materially benefit the public. We are not a rubber stamp.

Ette Media, in partnership with mathematician and data analyst Dr Richard Bean, reviewed and analysed 42 interviews from ABC's 7.30 programme between mid-2022, when Sarah Ferguson began her stint as host, until the end of August 2026. We watched 42 7.30 interviews and one of the things we noticed was the language used to describe certain atrocities. The strongest and most graphic language was exclusively reserved for describing the killing of Israelis, a pattern we see in newsrooms around the world.

Intervening diplomatically goes against Chinese instincts. But if there is a third and more devastating round of US-Iran war, whose economic shocks China no longer can insulate itself from, Beijing may be incentivized to intervene in a manner Washington may prefer to avoid.

It got not one moment of examination here but the involvement of the UK in the war on Iran has highlighted that their national broadcaster has replaced journalism with poundshop newspeak, explaining to the proles that helping to bomb West Asia isn't participating in a war against it.
From BBC news: RAF Fairford is located in the Cotswolds, about four miles (6.4km) south of the town of Fairford, which sits along the River Coln.

The base shares a long history with the American military, and has recently been used by US warplanes as a staging post for defensive strikes on Iran.

Interesting (& encouraging) research from @anasabherwal.bsky.social & @greggsparkman.bsky.social 'Combined signals of scientific and social consensus best mobilize action on societal challenges even if government and industry oppose' 👉 www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/...
Abstract

When facing real-world societal challenges, people make decisions about how to act based on multiple, often conflicting messages from various influential stakeholders such as governments, scientists, fellow citizens, and private companies. How does the public decide to act amid potentially converging or diverging signals from multiple entities in society? Which entities remain influential even if other groups appear apathetic or stand in opposition? This question becomes especially important in contexts like the United States where the government, industry, scientists, and public sentiment may diverge. In two conjoint experiments spanning over 40,000 evaluations, one behavioral experiment and a digital field study (Ns = 1,515, 2,005, 1,604, 50,668 respectively; all preregistered), we show the relative and combined influence of government bodies, scientific experts, industry stakeholders, and social consensus in the general public in driving responses to 10 issues in environmental, health, and technology domains. Across domains, support from scientists and social consensus was most influential in shaping the American public's responses to societal problems including policy support, product preferences, donations to a cause, and social media engagement. And when facing opposition from government and industry, the combined, but not isolated, support of scientists and social consensus reliably mobilized action across domains. This work suggests that even amid rising systemic opposition to solving contemporary societal challenges, scientists and the public can come together to mobilize action.

Years now of calling for these murderers to stop killing everyone and start "respecting" the law - this would be evil and absurd by itself, but to do this while also arming the murderers and funding them and calling them your "friend" makes this a uniquely ghoulish exercise of propaganda.
Israel's illegal invasion and ethnic cleansing of Lebanon. Not "contributing to" it is the literal sole cause of it.

@SenatorWong
The conflict in Lebanon is contributing to a humanitarian crisis. As UN Security Council members meet today to discuss the protection of UN and Humanitarian Personnel, Australia and partners call for international humanitarian law to be respected, and aid workers to be protected.
9:09 AM • Apr 9, 2026 • 10.7K Views

Years of this passive language has desensitised us. Is the law being "disrespected"? No. It's being criminally breached by Israel, over and over again, which in turn, obligates states to react, to punish, to sanction. When someone is murdered, you do not "call for" the murderer to respect the law, you arrest them.
