My six year olds love @privateeyenews.bsky.social for some reason. They keep picking it up, looking over it for a while, then asking impossible-to-answer questions like “who’s Ed Davey?”

I have so many questions about this weird picture the Victorian government made (almost certainly with AI) of a bridge on the airport rail line.

I'm not sure this is as reassuring as OpenAI is trying to make out. Basically: the agents are still trying to escape the sandbox.

As someone who had to contribute to a day-long live blog on the ‘birth’ of a royal baby, I’m entirely in favour of this kind of thing. At one point i sent a pic of a squirrel in Hyde Park and later listed ice cream flavours on offer near Buckingham Palace.

Fond memories of last time the Dockers were in a grand final I was in Stockholm for the IPCC conference where they warned we mustn’t get above 1.5C global warming, and the Dockers were trounced. Not sure right now which one I more deeply wish improved.

Some fun facts! Lachie Neale earns about $1.4m a year. A $10k fine is 0.7% of that, or the equivalent of a fine of $536 for the median Australian worker. That's roughly the fine you get for disobeying a speed sign by more than 10 knots on a jetski.

An AI did something it shouldn't, and a server wasn't secured as well as it should be. But that's no fun, the narratives require just one or the other. AIs are either tools or people, if the former their users are responsible for what they do, and if the latter we get to sue a robot. Now that's fun

Ruth Davidson argues against inheritance tax "inherent unfairness that we pay tax when we die. What does the state do for our corpse in return?" It's an odd argument because corpses don't pay the tax. They can't. They're dead. Also, what does a corpse need the money for. inews.co.uk/inews-lifest...
