The creation of any settler colonial state that involves displacement, land theft, genocidal intent and action, imposing government and subjugating dissent is the purest form of racism there is. It applies to Canada, USA, Australia and it applies to Israel

This is a very good point. The ESRI data showed that the sector wasn't in crisis at all yet the government did this on the basis of hearsay and interviews with whining hoteliers. They didn't need to blockade anything, their interests were viewed as automatically paramount.

It's not at all good that there's an effective conspiracy by the vast majority of Irish media in concert with the government to de facto end Irish neutrality by removing the Triple Lock despite majority public opposition. Democracy here, such as it is, is threatened by the right.

It got not one moment of examination here but the involvement of the UK in the war on Iran has highlighted that their national broadcaster has replaced journalism with poundshop newspeak, explaining to the proles that helping to bomb West Asia isn't participating in a war against it.
From BBC news: RAF Fairford is located in the Cotswolds, about four miles (6.4km) south of the town of Fairford, which sits along the River Coln.

The base shares a long history with the American military, and has recently been used by US warplanes as a staging post for defensive strikes on Iran.

London Review OF BOOKS
The powerful tend not to be explicitly opposed to democracy. Instead, the task is to manage things so that elections produce the right outcomes and don't change anything that matters. One of the main ways to do this s to make sure that the people hear and sec only the right things, so that when they go to he polls they can be trusted to tick the right boxes and go back to sleep for another four or five years. And this in turn requires that the right people maintain control of the means of mental production. This goes well bevond Kraft, or what he decides to do with his stadium. Most British newspapers are owned by a handful of billionaires, vet nobody asks if it's right for billionaires to be taking positions on complicated political issues.
