More of this framing, please. The ability to think and work across multiple domains, professional and otherwise, is the whole point of a liberal arts education. If graduates in any major can build a career in a field they never imagined at 19, that's a strength, not a failure of vocational training.

We got two baby kitties and I named them Milton and Marlowe. Also, my honors students got matching tattoos (not pictured, sorry) based on a medieval manuscript. Where does all this go on my CV?
Two adorable tabby kittens, approx 3 months old, sitting on a chifforobe in front of a bouquet of Lego flowers and next to the OED. On the left is a white and gray kitty named Milton. He is curious and leaning toward the camera. Between him and the OED is a fully gray tabby named Marlowe. He is skeptical, maybe.

Trying to make Hildegardplätzchen for my literary history class.
Illumination from Hildegard von Bingen’s Scivias—Hildegard receiving a vision, dictating to Volmar, and sketching on a wax tablet—that has been altered with speech bubbles and labels.

Hildegard con Bingen (good at everything) says:
Diese Plätzchen sind einfach zuzubereiten. Man nehme etwas Muskatnuss, die gleiche Menge Zimt und ein paar Nelken und zerstoße sie. Dann forme man daraus mit Mehl und Wasser kleine Küchlein.

Volmar, labeled as “English Professor (unskilled otherwise)” says:

Oh sure, Hildegard, yes, that sounds easy...
You're going to write more detailed instructions, right?
And, um, when you say
"Plätzchen" you definitely mean "cookie," right?Illumination from Hildegard von Bingen’s Scivias—Hildegard receiving a vision, dictating to Volmar, and sketching on a wax tablet—that has been altered with speech bubbles and labels.

Hildegard con Bingen (good at everything) says:

Diese Plätzchen vertreiben alle Bitternis deines Herzens und geben deiner Gesinnung Ruhe und öffnen dein Herz und deine fünf Sinne.

Volmar, labeled as “English Professor (unskilled otherwise)” thinks:

It doesn't matter what cookies LOOK like if they drive away the bitterness from your heart, right?

My medieval lit students have started turning in their manuscript projects, and I am SO excited. I made that ink in my kitchen! They (mostly) wrote with quills on parchment!
Student-designed manuscripts in a scattered pile. They are made of parchment and mostly written with black ink. Some feature illuminations—one from The Decameron has a wolf and a lamb, others have knights, etc.
