It's probably best to avoid giving real numbers to any of these things without first applying some rigor and data, but I also think people can't remain principled to epistemic ambivalence, so "fraud is rare, errors are common" is a decent stopgap heuristic which is justified in most fields.

satin ribbons

After unexpectedly winning her first blue ribbon for a sewn cape in 1981, Carol St. Clair Johnson developed an enduring love for the New Mexico State Fair. The quilt Fair New Mexico-41 Fair Years incorporates more than six hundred of the ribbons she won at the fair every subsequent year except 2020 (when the fair was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic). Johnson earned ribbons for needlework, knitting, crochet, pies, cookies, cakes, canning, jewelry, flowers, vegetables, and potted plants. The title of the quilt is a reference to the state song, and the design places the state's Zia sun symbol at the center. The quilt earned Johnson yet another ribbon: Best in Category (miscellaneous quilt) at the 2023 New Mexico State Fair.

the NCAA is *restoring back*, not adding, the fair catch kick to the rulebook (absent since 1949). the right to a free kick (even after time had expired!) after making a fair catch predates nearly all other rules in every code of non-soccer football, including how many downs/tackles you got
As to "three consecutive fairs and downs" I take the proper interpretation of the last two or three years to have established a precedent in favor of counting a kick off or kick out or fair catch kick as number one in the three consecutive attempts to advance the ball provided it is played in the way so common now and which to all intents and purposes resembles a down or fair. Also I would say that the point from which to count the advance is the point at which the ball is put in play and not the twenty-five yard line nor the ten yard line from the center. If in kicking out a side chooses to put the ball in play on the fifteen yard line and in three attempts have worked it past the twenty yard line it still belongs to them, because they have made five yards from the point where the ball was put in play.from the goal. Directly after this the Huddersfield captain made a long, brilliant run, and grounded the ball amid great enthusiasm behind the Rangers' goal line. The try at goal was a very difficult one; the place kick was entrusted to the captain—the shot missed, and then half-time was called, but the ball had not gone out of play, for it had swerved round to Wheatley, who was waiting opposite the goal. He took his drop at the goal, sending the ball over the cross-bar. The point was hailed with great enthusiasm, but it was disputed, as the Rangers said half-time had been called by the umpires. Both umpires at first seemed to agree that no goal had been scored, but Rule 60, which says "Neither half-time nor no side shall be called until the ball is fairly held, or goes out of play, and in the case of a try or fair catch the kick at goal shall be allowed," was quoted, but no decision could be arrived at. We believe that a case has been sent up to the editor of The Field for decision, to serve as precedent in similar moot points in the future. When half-time was called the ball was fairly held, and was not out of play, and it therefore seems to us that the point was legitimately obtained.6. Any player catching the ball directly from the foot or leg on or below the knee of another player, may call "mark:" he then has a free kick from any spot in a line with his mark and the centre of his opponent's goal post. No player being allowed to come inside the spot marked, or within five yards in any other direction.is pretty clearly indicated. In the Har- vard and Yale games, Princeton scored a total of thirteen points from one touchdown and goal and two drop-kick goals. The Tigers lost twenty-three points from two touchdowns and goals and two drop-kick and one fair catch place-kick goals. Harvard played a practice management.
