We are so overdue for NDP MLAs with a conscience to call out this terrible leadership. And if he demotes you, let him isolate himself and force a much-needed shuffle at the top

This Thanksgiving, we need to have a talk with our "i'm sure glad Carney is at the helm" relatives. Have them elaborate on how increased surveillance, more AI data centers, fewer environmental protections, more pipelines, and an end to the gas tax and solar incenyives are what we need right now.

About 50 people crammed into the court room to hear the decision, which took Murray 10 minutes to deliver. Applause broke out as she stood, with people openly crying from relief, from happiness, from feeling like someone in power understood the urgency of the crisis.

Mark Carney says he’s protecting Canadian workers. It’s Orwellian doublespeak
Subject to ministerial review, the right to strike is likely to be much weakened by Bill C-39.

In 2023, I was working with a charity & we did this market to serve food/provide clothes/haircuts for ppl on the DTES. Pete Fry and Ken Sim said they'd come. Pete Fry came, Ken Sim didn't. 2 weeks later, Ken Sim had the homeless people in the park rounded up, their possessions put in garbage cans.

An individual in Canada used ChatGPT for eight months to plan one of the country’s worst mass shootings. Yet, if you listen to politicians and media, the real threat of AI is a fantastical scenario where it might wipe out humans in ten years. They need to stop getting fooled by tech deceivers.

Bluesky is funny because it's a bunch of people explaining the national shitshow of post-9/11 brain rot to people who are too young to remember but also too young to be on Bluesky. But it's nice to be in good company.

I love how Republican strategists are in this weird middle zone where they occasionally forget that they completely abandoned the image of the prudish clean-cut straight shooter, and their base (absent some partisan guidance) will absolutely embrace things much freakier than a guy in a speedo

One thing I love about heat pumps is how the exterior lineset covers on a retrofit mini split give a bit of a space age Logan's Run vibe. Especially when they're bright white and rounded with those tidy little corner fittings.

Azaroff gains nothing by losing the election and letting Sim win. I'm trying to figure out what he gains by staying in a couple more days if that's his plan. Maybe he thinks it makes him look like more of a serious candidate and sows left division, letting Sim win so OC can say "we told you so"?

I'm curious what @onecityvan.bsky.social members & casual supporters think of @wazaroff.bsky.social digging in that he has a better shot than Fry now that Steph Allen has left. I find it so sad & selfish. Election is in less than 2 months. The agreement was solid. This is Art-of-the-Deal behaviour.

the perennial focus on arson or intentional fires is a distraction from the main driver of increased fire activity: climate change. it's tempting to believe individual pyromaniacs are responsible because looking at systemic causes would require us, as a country, to stop investing in pipelines.
