To be completely honest, it absolutely blows my mind that this wasn’t done as part of the very first EU sanctions package in February 2022. Quite aside from the punitive effect of taking the consequences of Putin’s war to (some of) the Russian public, it’s also a huge security risk.

Absolutely stunning that in the NYT’s latest major story on Elon Musk single-handedly trying to save the GOP there is NOT ONE WORD about how he is the world’s most vocal white supremacist and advocate of ethnic cleansing.

Man who enobled a KGB agent's son... despite SIS raising concerns... says what?
This is just not true. As soon as I became
foreign secretary I asked the security
services the same question and they
replied that there was no evidence of any
successful interference in the 2016
referendum, by Russia or any other power

Either the security services have changed
their view - which would be very odd - or
Burnham is lying about what he has been
told. After all Starmer was in power for two
years and had access to exactly the same
information.

If you want quality family life, privacy, personal safety, career security, you’d decide very that getting elected is a bad choice. I’ve no idea how so many stay sane. There are ways to make a positive difference without launching yourself into that quagmire. Council, Parliament, doesn’t matter.
