Oh...
Panel 1

Field is reading a book and talking about it.

Field: This autism memoir is fascinating. A lot of it is surprisingly relatable.

Panel 2

Field: It's funny that I've had similar experiences, thoughts, and habits. It's like reading about myself.

Panel 3

Field stares into the distance. They are suddenly evaluating everything about their life.

Panel 4

Field watches a sunset. As if watching an old world vanish into darkness before a new one comes into the light.

Good job, California. 15 states to go. No child should marry. A child who marries isn’t emancipated, her (and it’s usually a girl) new spouse becomes her guardian. If he abuses her, she cannot go to a domestic violence shelter. She cannot initiate a divorce. She can’t have her own money.

I do not think we should have a death penalty. I don't think it is any kind of deterrent. I think it's barbaric. I think it makes us all worse people. All of us. And we just don't have to do this to ourselves. We could abolish it, and we should.

Editor Sophia Dasser and reporter Cereese Qusba of the Cornell Daily Sun are the reason we now know about the gang rape case at Cornell and the university’s shameful under-reaction. Nice work, ladies. (📸 Heather Ainsworth)

I have an anthropological observation: decent people have SO much pent up rage now from the evil of Trump1, Covid, Biden's fecklessness, Trump2, AI, Iran etc- it is a deadly laser beam of rage and everyone it its path will be destroyed. Cornell rapist ghouls are the dam breaking. Watch.

When they get back in power, Democrats need to go all-in on higher education. We need a campaign of reinvestment in public universities across the country that makes the Morrill Land-Grant Act look like nothing by comparison *and* a GI Bill of Rights-style program of tuition grants.

You know when public attention can reverse a prosecutorial decision like this you almost get the sense that the decision to shrug it off in the first place was not based on an assessment of the quality of the evidence so much as an assessment of the seriousness of the crime.

new research reports that cats vocalize more when greeting male owners. researchers suggest that this is because cats have apparently learned that men require additional explanation when provided with basic communication. I don't like the idea that cats are judging me this accurately.
