Tgf-β receptor signaling cell-intrinsically controls conserved microglia homeostatic maturation during zebrafish development
In this study, Miserocchi et al. find that Tgf-β receptor signaling is a conserved, cell-intrinsic regulator of microglial differentiation in zebrafish. Disrupting this pathway blocks acquisition and ...

reproducible patterns and shapes in development. We take an integrated approach, combining zebrafish genetics, in vivo live imaging, machine-learning-based image analysis, and computational modeling.

What you will do? Conduct developmental biology research. Perform zebrafish genetics and microscopy experiments. Maintain zebrafish lines and lab operations. 80% research and 20% lab management.

Training environment:
Lab-owned state-of-the-art confocal microscope. Premier WashU zebrafish facility with robotic feeding system. Quantitative, machine-learning based image analysis. A strong community with ~10 labs primarily focusing on zebrafish research.

Who should apply?
Bachelor's degree in Biology or related fields. At least one year of research experience. Strong organization and team work skills. Prior molecular biology or zebrafish experience is preferred.

How to apply: Send Cover Letter, CV and contact details for 2 references to tonytsai@wustl.edu

When utilized in literature review, LLMs consistently 1. fail to mention female authors in female-led literatures, 2. insist that men are more influential or more heavily cited when this is contradicted by objective citation counts, and 3. attribute women’s work to hallucinated male scholars.

Scatter plot showing that Fast & Fair peer review reached first decision with reviews much faster than conventional peer review: mean 5.5 versus 37.7 working days. Most Fast & Fair manuscripts met the 7-working-day target, while conventional manuscripts were slower and more variable, up to 116 working days.
