While yes, I have a science PhD, I also believe that it shouldn’t take an advanced degree to understand your healthcare. Between confusing bills, denied claims, and hours on hold with insurance companies, getting care can feel impossible. I’m running to fix our broken healthcare system.

Where you live shouldn’t determine whether you can safely give birth. Rural Georgia families deserve access to prenatal care, maternity services and emergency care close to home. We need to make sure our rural hospitals have the resources to stay open. That's one reason I'm running for Congress!

Maryland just released its own vaccine recommendations based on guidance from established medical and scientific organizations instead of the Trump administration. With unqualified leaders at the helm, states can and—should—step up to protect their communities.

The Trump administration is cutting financial aid for degrees it says don’t “pay off”—including social work, early childhood education, and the arts. These careers contribute meaningfully to our society and we should be creating pathways to education, not erecting barriers. Congress can fix this!

If you're concerned about the number of outbreaks happening, you're not alone. This is a direct result of the incompetent leadership from RFK Jr. at HHS. We deserve better. We deserve a public health champion fighting for us. That’s why I’m running.

Public health is at its best when you don't even notice it's working. It doesn't just pop up during a pandemic. It's clean water. It’s food safety. It’s disease prevention. It’s protecting our communities before a crisis hits. That's why we need public health champions in Congress!

We eliminated measles in the United States in 2000. Now look where we are: 2,289 cases in 2025. 3,294 and counting in 2026. Vaccination rates are falling. Outbreaks are growing. This is why we need public health officials in Congress.

The Supreme Court just stopped Trump from making it harder for Americans to vote by mail. That’s good news. But it shouldn’t have taken a Supreme Court case to stop a president from trying to make it harder for eligible voters to cast a ballot.

We need 95% of the population to be vaccinated to prevent outbreaks. Unfortunately, we have fallen below that number in places like Pennsylvania, and are now seeing the predictable, and deadly, consequences. This is why strong public health measures matter.

A policy that hurts one community doesn’t stay contained there. Our economy, schools, healthcare, environment, and communities are all part of the same ecosystem. That’s how I approach legislating: we are all connected and thus impacted when policy isn’t working for some.

Healthcare shouldn’t depend on your ZIP code or your paycheck. As a microbiologist, I follow the evidence. As a state representative, I’ve fought to expand affordable care. In Congress, I’ll protect Medicaid and make healthcare accessible to all.

When babies in a daycare come in contact with measles, they are particularly vulnerable because children cannot be fully vaccinated until age 4 or 5. This is why RFK, Jr.’s anti-vax rhetoric is so dangerous! This is why we need science voices in Congress.
