And the spectrum continues from there. Some people pass 99 percent of the time. Some pass 90 percent. Some pass 60 percent. And ofc some cis people are mistakenly clocked as trans people. The more passing is policed, the more cis people get clocked mistakenly. It's a spectrum, and you're on it too.

See, because the reality is that whatever you believe is true about sex and gender, cis passing is definitely on a spectrum. For example, as I said, I pass well enough to go through a police patdown with no hint that I might not be a biological man - but I couldn't pass a strip search.

Intuitively, I think a lot of cis people think there could be some sort of exception made for trans people who are so cis passing as to not create any sort of friction or disruption. Whether or not you think that's a good idea, I'm afraid it is impossible.

It was never extreme for trans people to want to be treated like human beings in whatever spaces we entered. It did not go too far, and no amount of historical revisionism will make the simple request for equal access to safety in public spaces unreasonable.

The truth is, both trans people and those so strongly anti-genocide that they’d sit out a vote are a vanishingly small minority. And yet I rarely see the people who throw around “purity test” terminology talk about the much larger group, white men and women, who never vote Democrat to begin with.

Framing a genuine moral struggle in this way is the most myopic, privileged take. Even if you think trans people should vote for an anti-trans democrat, or people should swallow their feelings about Gaza to get republicans out of power, diminishing the heaviness of that choice is insulting.

Just speculation before I buy a finer carder and test it out myself but cotton carding on a 190 tpi might work better than wool or rabbit but well that’s just my guess before I test it! I will let you know my results but it might not be for a few months, busy with harvest time and holidays

Now reading more into this, and for adding in pet hair yes it’s a good idea to mix in longer fibers, but since pet hair is so fine you likely need much higher TPI(teeth per inch) for your carding surface to make sure the hair actually gets integrated. But now I need to test wool vs rabbit vs cotton
