Hey, it's my first week as the PSNI 's Head of Threat Assessment. Now to take a big sip of coffee and check the news...
Excerpt from RTE News article on Orange Order March down Garvaghy road.
"The commission says it carefully considered those representations, but it seems the input from the PSNI was significant in their decision-making.

"The police have stated ... that they have no information indicating that the parade will result in public disorder or damage to property if it proceeds along its notified route."

Just to fully underline how spiteful this shit is for those unaware: On the left is the route the Orange Order have been ordered to take for the past 3 decades without trouble. On the right is the route that has brought hundreds of cops to Drumcree. The only motivation is sectarian antagonism.

We wouldn’t tolerate a golf club with membership practices like the OO, and if such a golf club treated its neighbours with a fraction of this contempt… it would be a golf club with no friends in politics.

There’s an environmental argument that all car taxes should be put on fuel rather than vehicle ownership, so the state would reward you for frequently cycling and using public transport while owning a car for necessary journeys. It seems these guys want the opposite.

It’s illustrative that most of the leftist south is concerned with the Irish football team, while the north sits on a precipice. Can chew gum & clap at the same time and all that, indifference is also grand, but just don’t be cosplaying parts of the conflict here when it comes to election time 👍

The FAI repeatedly told us players would be protected. Yet when a 24 year old acted on his conscience, they left him to stand alone & used a vote among his teammates to validate their own cowardice. This isn’t protecting a young player, it’s protecting themselves at his expense. #StopTheGame
