Stop Using Anti-Ontario Language
instead of: "Can't have shit in Detroit." say: "Can't have shit in Windsor."
instead of: "I hope the Buffalo Bills make the playoffs." say: "I hope the Fort Erie Bills make the playoffs."
instead of: "Wow, Niagara Falls is so beautiful." say: "Wow, Niagara Falls, Ontario is so beautiful."
instead of: "I'm glad I got to know you." say: "I'm glad I Ottawa you."
instead of: "Wouldn't it be nice if there was a port town on Lake Huron?" say "Sarnia"

i think that driving should be legal as long as everyone is issued a remote that can shut off the engine of every car in a 100-foot radius. this would be great if a driver is being unsafe, or if they're driving fine but you're just bored or having a bad day

I made a tool that turns PCB designs into 3D-printable molds. you sandwich copper tape between the parts, sand the ridges, and you have a real working PCB. no etching, no chemicals. I am losing my mind castpixel.itch.io/pcb-forge
I printed it and stuck self-adhesive copper tape to it. There's copper tape with conductive adhesive so you can add multiple overlapping pieces and it counts as one conductive surface.

Then I used the second part of the mold to shape the copper, so that it sticks inside the recessed traces.

Then I used sandpaper to file away at the raised ridges. The copper traces are now electrically independent of each other. Done!

But if I want, I can remove the extra copper tape. The companion mold at the bottom. This second 3D-printed part pushes the copper tape down into the recessed trace channels so it conforms to the shape. The two parts sandwich together with alignment spikes to keep everything registered.screenshot of QZW Labs' raised pcb idea! here is their youtube video

The end goal of Grok sexual harassment is to make women afraid to be visible. It’s a punishment for daring to exist in a way the perpetrators can’t control. There’s no one solution to this, because the problem isn’t just technological. It’s cultural. It’s misogyny. This is just one expression of it.

Suggestion: know what these things look like (the camera lenses on the frames aren't subtle, they're easy to spot), and immediately call attention to the wearer, until they leave. Just like Google Glass, simply make it impossible for a person to wear these in public, anywhere, at any time.

The absurdity is that there is space here! But they shaped the island to provide super wide turning radiuses for left turning cars! It's just that everything in the current road design practices is engineered to make TSP or anything that is not the 3-4 phase vanilla suburban traffic cycle impossible

A lot of education discourse is at root an inability to decide whether the purpose of our education system is to 1) teach material and measure learning 2) reward students who work hard 3) separate the smart kids (destined for smart guy jobs) from the dumb kids (destined to serve the smart guys)

Really a sad way to go through life www.nytimes.com/2025/06/27/b...
On how A.I. can transform media consumption:
Reading the A.I. summary — I think it can be useful. I think it has a powerfully inoculating effect. Like, I think long-form, lots-of-episodes TV is a waste of time. But it’s very tempting, right? You watch an episode and you’re like, “Oh, geez, I really want to know what happens here.”
And so I discovered a couple of years ago, obviously, that the solution is you immediately go to Wikipedia and read the entire summary of the season, and then you’re cured of the desire to watch any more episodes. So there is a therapeutic benefit to A.I. summaries.

Today I discovered that people have been uploading old stock photo CD-ROMs to the Internet Archive and now I'm obsessed with the mid-'90s business-core aesthetic.
A stock photo of two people doing business on a staircase. Two dudes standing around a watercooler, presumably having a 'watercooler conversation' about last night's Seinfeld or whatever.A woman reclining in a chair in a business suit with her shoes off.A guy in a suit on a city street doing some damn business on a cell phone. In transit, frequency is freedom (thanks @humantransit.bsky.social!), but today only a handful of routes have service every 15 minutes or better. This plan proposes a frequent service network (every 10 minutes all day weekdays and 15 minutes otherwise) on 16 routes across the region!
GRT's map of Waterloo Region showing proposed frequent routes:
ION LRT 301
ION Bus / Highway Express 302
New Highway Express 303
iXpress 201, 202, 203, 204, 205, and 206.
Local Routes 7, 8, 12, 16, 20, 51, 53, and 61.
