Dumper issues meant we couldn’t complete this week’s concrete pour, so the team switched focus to drainage. A 150mm connection and inspection chambers were installed, and the drain crossing onto our land was picked up. Now backfilled, with benching and covers to follow. #UKCanals #Lichfield

My dad is in a care home. He's 77. His formative years were in the late 60s. He liked the Rolling Stones But all the pictures in his care home are of Charlie Chaplin, Rita Hayworth and Spitfires - way before his time! People have a very skewed idea of what 'old' is!

This has been a pet hate of mine for more years than I care to remember. I used to run music activities for older disabled adults and the cohort I worked with had been subjected to a musical diet of WWII fare for years before I took over. These were people who had grown up in the 60s.

I took some peripheral photos of the current state of the world around the Anglia Square demolition. And it happening as well. It’s still fascinating, all the shapes and lines and alignments of a slowly degrading piece of city opening up and showing a bare layered soul as the world walks by.

I visited Venice and I'm honestly disappointed. So much valuable space wasted on water. With a little vision, those canals could carry thousands more cars per hour. And as a bonus, it would solve their overtourism problem too.
