RTÉ News: Cost of MetroLink project could rise as high as €17.5bn Disappointingly you won’t be able to catch the world’s most expensive metro to the world’s most expensive hospital. You’ll still have to change to the LUAS.

Thrilled to share the cover and pub date for my next book!

YIPPEE KI-YAY: "DIE HARD," BRUCE WILLIS, AND THE REINVENTION OF THE ACTION MOVIE — an in-depth look at the origin, production, and legacy of the original 1988 classic, as well as its various sequels and rip-offs — is out 5/11/27!

The cover for YIPPEE KI-YAY is red with black and white type, and an abstract but cool silhouette of a figure in free-fall while attached to a fire hose.

I’ll never be the best writer. But one way I can beat every writer is by being singular. No one can beat me at being me. So why any writer would want to veer off that and let AI steer them is beyond me. You’re giving up the only advantage you have over everyone else.

Wittgenstein sounds like he’d fit in with… some people on here

He was also an immensely grumpy, self-centred and adolescent character in a way that is constantly amusing to read about. Here is Wittgenstein's response to a friend taking him out for a cheerful afternoon to watch a boat race.
He suddenly stood still and explained that the way we had spent the afternoon was so vile that we ought not to live, or at least he ought not, that nothing is tolerable except producing great works or enjoying those of others, that he has accomplished nothing and never will, etc. - all this with a force that nearly knocks one down.

Stone carving on an old Victorian wall. A face, divided down the middle. on one half, a man’s face, hand pressed in contemplation to his cheek. On the other, a grilling skull, eyeball still in place and staring manically upwards.
