True not just in publishing/writing. Look at how this new Meta Muse basically jumps into the user's shit, mixes it around, gets it everywhere. Shares their address. Lies to their contacts. Sells their stuff at a low price. Do not let the vampire in. Hang garlic. Sharpen stakes.

Most TTRPGs are basically resource management games and should lean further into that. Tracking rations, ammunition, encumbrance etc can be a fun and interesting part of the experience if you let it (and if the mechanics are interesting) and players do themselves a disservice by handwaving them.

The emotional whiplash of your #pathfinder2e boss missing almost every attack and going down like a chump... and the players getting hit so hard in the ensuing escape sequence that they just barely avoid a TPK. The dice really do tell the story.

Genslop is obviously shit in any context but by far the most bewildering is when restaurants use it to make fake pictures of food. Like, you don't have a kitchen back there? You couldn't make a real sandwich to take a photo of? What the fuck are you even doing?

I really don't care if AI is sentient, that's not my area of expertise and I don't know how that shit works. What I do know for sure is that it's harmful technology by literally every metric that matters. I wish for every data center to be demolished and for all AI companies to go bankrupt.

#pathfinder2e encounter: 2 shadows that pincer the party on a narrow staircase. No room to move. We got through one round, nothing much happened, then basically said "this is going to be awful, isn't it? Let's just not do this one." Spell slots refunded, monsters removed. Gotta do it sometimes.

So, if I understand Nigel Farage's argument correctly it is: "Everyone I trusted and elevated into a position of responsibility is constantly doing crimes that benefit me but of which I somehow have no knowledge. I am a man with the character, judgement, and intelligence to run the country." Ok.

Jesus Christ came back. Of course He came back. He said He would. The problem is that He came back gentle and confused and asking questions about sparrows and rent prices.
Before He could get His bearings, Pastor Dominion Crale of the First Church of the Perpetual Tithe had Him zip-tied in an Escalade and driven to the compound in forty-seven minutes flat. That was eighteen months ago.
The main Cathedral now operates HIS PRECIOUS BLOOD™, a multi-level wellness sacrament pipeline moving vials of genuine messianic blood at a year’s Toronto/London/Paris professional’s salary per unit (Blessed Faithful Anointed Healing Moment™), the cost of a large luxurious home in Tokyo or NYC (Chosen Hosts Exclusive Miracles Package™), a tier only reachable by mega-millionaires and billionaires (The Perfected Saints Full Indulgence Membership™), and a newly launched Divine Disciples Triple Elite Plus Eternal Covenant™ option for the most wealthy that comes with a personal blessing, concierge, They operate on artificial scarcity (above and beyond the limits of their gruesome extraction process). The First Church ensures that even the Eternal Covenant™ tier has a waiting list. Lower tier lottery winners can wait in line even through the night to receive their “blessings” on High Holy Days™. (Universal Love For All™ financing plans available.) The Vatican filed a complaint. It is in a drawer somewhere one guy has the keys to, and nobody’s seen him in a while. The SEC wrote a memo about drafting a proposal to explore a process to review the complaint. It’s in another drawer.
Jesus is in the Sanctum Sub-Basement, connected to the Eternal Harvest Array. He cannot die. He cannot leave. He has been patient about this. He waits, faithful, hoping, suffering. He waits for you.You have been recruited by Lucifer. Yes, THAT Lucifer. (Please don’t call them “Satan” or “The Devil.” I would say if you value your life, but that is the least of what the Morningstar can take.)
Lucifer (pronouns variable and flexible, presentation business casual, stress beginning to show through the seams) sought you out personally. The pitch ran for almost two hours and included a PowerPoint with extensive citations.
The end of the pitch: “I know how this looks. I know you have questions. That’s too bad. It’s none of your business, really. What I need you to understand is this situation is more personally offensive to me than your little brain can grasp. I pursued every available channel for months. I am standing in this awful parking lot talking to you, exactly because there are no more channels. Please. You will be well-treated for your help. And I am asking nicely. I am… not good at asking nicely.”

We DRASTICALLY cut back on factories, and the awful pollution they caused, back in the 1970's with the Environmental Protection Agency. We can ABSOLUTELY get rid of Data Centers, ESPECIALLY when they've been built when the people clearly said they DO NOT WANT THEM.
DON'T TELL US, "PANDORA'S BOX HAS ALREADY
BEEN OPENED," or, "THE GENIE IS OUT OF THE
BOTTLE," AS IF NOTHING CAN BE DONE...

GENIES AND PANDORA'S BOX ARE NOT REAL.
THE HUMAN SUFFERING IS VERY, VERY REAL.

WE ABSOLUTELY CAN GET RID OF SOMETHING
THAT WE DIDN'T HAVE OR NEED FIVE YEARS AGO.
WE DID IT IN THE 1970's WITH THE EPA.
WE DON'T NEED DATA CENTERS, AND WE
CERTAINLY DO NOT NEED THE RICH WHO PUT
THEM UP EVEN WHEN THE PEOPLE SAY "NO."

"They didn't have that back then". "Back then" was a non-historical fantasy setting, tech level just barely pre-industrial, with largely modern social sensibilities, in no way trying to be "historically accurate". "That" was a cake.

Actually that's exactly what I'm arguing, we do not need these automated fraud factories guzzling our resources and poisoning our communities. This is a definite step in the right direction, though.
“I don’t think anyone is arguing that we should not have any datacentres in the UK or Scotland,” said Graham Simpson, a member of the Scottish parliament representing North Lanarkshire.
