Recovery isn't about being "stronger" than your symptoms or your trauma. You're plenty strong, & you have nothing to prove. This is about strategy, values, & goals-- those things our trauma convinces us we "can't" & "shouldn't" & "don't deserve" to think about.

When we're working our trauma or addiction recovery, it's useful to remember what worked & what didn't work for us learning things in school. Reading, writing, music, modeling-- our effective learning modalities then can become our effective recovery tools now. Think back.

I have to be honest… All of the discourse around DEI and affirmative action have really allowed me to recognize that at the core of all of this white supremacy is the deep understanding and acceptance that most white people seem to have that they are not actually qualified for their positioning.

personal amendment: education is intensive interpersonal labor and i don't do it for free. i will however do it for compensation (cash, trade, w/e.) if the gap is larger than expected that's important to know, but the next step ain't rushing to fill it w no guarantee that they'll value that effort.

People who fetishize small business have never worked for one. I once worked for a dental company that expected all staff to work an extra 2 hours per day for free. Every "mom and pop shop" has endless horror stories of labour law violations.
