9pm, two days after harvest
Converging lines of wheat stubble climbing a hill to a horizon where, silhouetted left to right: dark smear of treetop, 14th century church tower, sparse ash crown, two further bulks of the tops of trees, the whole suffused with a steady orange and peach evening light. SUFFOLK, UK

Just had an alert in Outlook asking me if I wanted to send an email during my work hours, on Tuesday 8am. Sir, I don’t start work at 8am, so that wouldn’t be during my work hours. Also, I haven’t finished work for today. I finish at 6 or 6.30. When did Microsoft start deciding my work hours?

For reasons, I found myself Google-translating the Russian expression “я вас люблю”, but because I couldn’t be bothered to turn on Russian script on my phone, I put in the transliteration, “ya vas lyublyu”. It means “I love you”. Or at least I thought it did.

ok, yep - I defy anyone to work out which is which
The side of an woman's effigy tomb showing the bottom of her dress and her feet (she lays on her back). The dress is depicted as many wiggled folds of fabric, and we can see the soles of her small shoes. A close up of the side of a Viennetta - white ice cream with three 'folded' layers on top of flat layers. It looks a lot like the folds of drapery in the other photo.

There’s no screening for ovarian cancer and it’s really difficult to spot: you can’t squidge your ovaries in the shower to check for lumps. Also it’s very good at masquerading at other things, like IBS and diverticulitis. Please take a look at this list of symptoms - and share if you can.

Cancer of the ovary, fallopian tube or peritoneum usually causes symptoms that are similar to common non-cancerous conditions. This can make it difficult to diagnose early.
If you have any of these symptoms or get these symptoms regularly, your GP should offer you cancer tests:
• a long-lasting bloated or swollen tummy
• feeling full quickly when you eat
• loss of appetite
• pain in the lower tummy area or back
• peeing (passing urine) more often than usual
• needing to pee urgently (feeling like you cannot hold on).
Other symptoms may include:
• a change in your normal bowel function (diarrhoea or constipation)
• weight loss for no obvious reason
• unexplained or extreme tiredness (fatigue)
• vaginal bleeding after the menopause.
If you are aged 50 or older and develop symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) for the first time, you should also have tests. IBS can cause bloating and changes in bowel function. But it does not usually start after the age of 50.
